Story
Norton is a gentle giant with a heart full of potential. Norton came to PACC after living a rough life, likely as an outdoor dog who was left behind. Since arriving at PACC and moving into foster care, he’s been slowly learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family.Norton is still shy with new people and needs time and patience to warm up, especially with men. He’s particularly sensitive about being touched near his neck and the area around his missing eye, but once he trusts you, he seeks out affection and enjoys being loved on in his own gentle way.He currently lives with other dogs and cats and is doing well with slow, supervised introductions. Norton is house-trained, crate-trained, and enjoys car rides, relaxing in the park, and taking in the world by his foster family`s side. Because Norton is still nervous about loud noises and unfamiliar environments, he needs to be monitored when outdoors and will need a secure yard with tall fencing and a solid gate. Norton likes the mellow, simple pleasures, so a home without young children would be best. He would love a calm, adult household with someone who understands shy dogs and is willing to go slow as he continues to grow more confident. If you`re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who just needs time, patience, and love to truly shine—Norton is your guy.

Story
PACC’s current “Best Hair” award goes to none other than our 8-year-old white and blue Great Pyrenees mix, Theo! Theo’s luscious locks have passersby stopping to say, “Oooh” and “Ahhh” over his uniquely gorgeous appearance! While he’s enjoyed the compliments, what he’s really hoping to hear is, “He’s perfect, let’s take him home!” In a former home Theo did well with other large dogs, cats, even livestock- he’s just hoping for a home without kiddos. Volunteers and staff members have great things to say about this big guy: “Theo is a big fluffy sweetheart! I had him in a play yard this morning and the longer we were together, the more he opened up and showed that he is just a big old mushy lover boy! He was tolerant and was easily able to get vaccines administered by a volunteer. When I sat down on a bench he came over to me and stood by my side so that we could cuddle. He loves pets and if I would stop he would press his sweet face into my hand so that I would keep petting his head.”“Theo walked well today with a little pulling due to excitement! He solicited attention and allowed lots of handling. A TOTAL LOVE BUG!!! When he was done and ready to go inside, he went and stood by the door of the gate.”“On a trip by HH I saw this big handsome guy in his kennel. I knelt down by him, talking to him, and he rubbed on the kennel door like a cat to allow lots of handling. STUD!!!!”Theo has been independent and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Theo has endeared himself to every person he’s met in the shelter and we know that his furever family is out there! Come meet him today!
