Story
Zelda is a large great Pyrenees weighing about 75lbs. She was brought to us on 4/11/24 and was born approximately 1/1/22. She is shy but shows no aggression towards other dogs or people, she has a calm and sweet temperament, and shows a high capacity for intelligence. With the bribe of a treat she knows how to speak on command and also sit. She also shows that she has the focus to learn other skills however she is in need of an owner to take time and train her. The most interesting trait about Zelda is her speaking voice. She has a howl that will put the greatest opera singer to shame and she enjoys sharing her voice to the world but certainly doesn't overdo it. Zelda also suffers from hot spots but has no major health issues. Anyone seeking a larger calm sweet dog would absolutely love spending time with Zelda. Zelda does require a tall privacy fence as she tends to wander. Zelda's adoption fee is set at $125, she is not eligible for any discounts.HSPC's adoption fee is currently reduced from $100 to $75 unless stated otherwise within the pet's description. Every pet that is available for adoption has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, wormed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including heartworm preventative (canines). Adopters are required to schedule a wellness exam with their veterinarian at their cost within 7 days of adoption. We are currently closed to the public and we will only respond to inquiries accompanying an application submitted through warmhearts.org/adopt.

Story
Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
