Story
Introducing our lovable furry friend! This charming pup is a people-person through and through—ready to soak up all the pets and attention from anyone, including strangers! However, when it comes to little ones, sudden movements and loud noises can startle him a bit. If children are calm and gentle, he's happy to hang out. Although he's not a fan of being carried or lifted up, he's a big fan of canine companions, especially smaller or similar-sized dogs. He's a true protector, but only when needed—stepping up if other dogs are too rowdy or aggressive. Birds? Squirrels? They definitely catch his eye during walks, but with a bit of leash training, he's working on his focus. In terms of energy, he's got the perfect balance—loving outdoor adventures but a total zen master indoors. While he might tug a little on walks, once he settles, he's an excellent leash follower. Busy streets can be overwhelming, so quieter spots are more his style. No guarding resources from people, but he might issue a gentle growl if other dogs get too close. When it's time to travel, he prefers a cozy crate in the car—helping ease those nerves and avoiding any car sickness. One thing's for sure—he's a potty pro outdoors only! Basic commands like sit, stay, paw, and eye contact? Nailed it! And did we mention he's a sucker for ice cubes? If you're ready to welcome this gentle giant into your heart and home, reach out to our team today to make him a part of your family! Story
We are having a big adoption event this Saturday, April 27th with 50% off adoptions and will be closed this Friday, April 26th to get the shelter ready. Online applications will not be considered during this weekend event (April 27th and 28th). Priority will be given to people coming in during visiting hours. My name is Nika and I am a four month old poodle and suspected Pyrenees mix as the humans say I have really big paws for my age. New things and people make me a bit nervous but I warm up quickly, especially if you're giving me hot dogs!I get very excited when there are other animals in the home, especially dogs, so most of them find me very annoying and I would do well as the only princess in the home. Maybe with another super confident king or queen. I love going for walks so that will be very important for us to to if you decide to take me home. I'm still little and learning but if you have patience with my, I am sure we can work it out. I will probably need to train you a little bit too! Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. You can also submit an application online if I am currently in foster or if you would like to save some time when you come visit. While we do welcome online applications, in person meets have top priority.dogs:https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-vancouver/Our visiting hours are:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12-4:30 (closed Friday, April 26th)Thursday, Public Holidays: closedSaturday, Sunday: 12-4 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 16.4 Age: 0yrs 4mths 4wks
