Appa is a very gentle dog, but he is a large man. He is great with kids when he’s not excited, he’s never bitten anyone, but due to his size, when he is excited his playful-ness can be rough on a small child. He loves being outside. He is great with both other dogs and cats and has a very good temper. He plays with a 20(ish) pound beagle, and lives with a cat without any chaos. His energy level is low inside, he loafs around and sleeps for most of the day. He is house trained. He listens, but at his timing (for the most part). He is a guardian by nature. He can be left alone in the house and doesn’t tear things up. Occasionally he will get something that the cat knocks off the counter while I’m gone, but that’s it. He is 2years old. I don’t care about an adoption fee, I just want him to go to a good home where he will be loved and cared for!

Case #59975536. Polar Pop was born June, 2024. This young guy was transferred from another area shelter. He is heartworm positive and is available only for fostering at this time. Once Polar Pop has been treated and is cleared of heartworm disease, he will be adoptable. Please contact the Slidell Animal Shelter if you are interested in fostering this big boy. This dog has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and is current with shots according to its age. Adoption fee is $90.00 cash or check only.

Roux is an 8 month old sweetheart with a great temperament and disposition. Everyone and every dog is a friend to meet and he is confident to go meet them. He is gentle, in his clumsy phase, plays well with people and pups alike and has a big ol' smile. He is food motivated and not food aggressive. Family is important to him, he likes to be near and we are with him most of the time. He is always curious to what you are doing. He rides in the car well, is potty trained, and can make it through a full night no problem. He will whine at the door during the day when he needs to go and enjoys a quick zoom session outside. He does need a yard or a consistently active home at this phase of his life. I am rehoming him because my wife and I overestimated our ability to handle a puppy, our infant daughter and our full time jobs. I am searching for a good home similar to ours for him and I will provide his kennel, toys and leash as well.

Dax was with his brother, Domino, but he got adopted months ago!
