Story
Oslo is the biggest sweetheart! He is evidence of why Great Pyrenees are called “gentle giants”. He is a protector and loyal. He has always guarded our home and is quick to alert us of anyone approaching our home. Always has been great with children and other dogs, and farm animals. He has never wanted to come inside our home due to weather (gets too hot inside) or because of fear of the different environment (floors being slippery, etc). He loves the cold and cool dirt and our cooler mud room. He is super low maintenance. Our only issue with Oslo is that he has broken away from his leash from time to time and has had a chicken from our farm as a snack. When he is out with us on the farm he doesn’t even get close to chickens and has perfect behavior. Just those moments of freedom he has had a snack. We are sadly rehoming him after getting him as a 8wk old puppy due to being busy with 4 kids and competitive sports, work, the farm, life, and multiple dogs. We want a good home for him.

Story
Meet Everest — the biggest, goofiest mountain of love you’ll ever climb ??? At around 5 years old, Everest is a purebred Great Pyrenees with a heart as grand as his name. He’s looking for a forever home where he can be the center of your world—because true to his noble roots, Everest prefers to be the only pet in the home. And trust us—he’s more than enough. This friendly giant LOVES people. Whether he’s wrestling with you on the lawn, snuggling on the couch, or supervising your chores with a wagging tail and a goofy grin, Everest is always ready to lend a paw and soak up attention. He’s got personality for days and a loyal heart that just wants to please. Fully trained in both indoor and outdoor obedience, Everest is already a rockstar when it comes to manners. But to make sure the bond is strong and seamless, his adopters will need to complete a 3-lesson training course with him. (Don’t worry—it’s fun, rewarding, and totally worth it.)No other petsAll the love, laughs, and loyalty you could ask forIf you’re ready to give Everest the mountain-high love he deserves, reach out to learn more and schedule a meet & greet. His forever home might just be with you.He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00. If you would like more information about Everest, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Apply for Everest through Project Hope Animal Rescues website!  June 21, 2025, 1:21 pm

Story
Wylie is an 11-month-old, 67-lb Great Pyrenees mix who has been doing wonderfully in foster care with structure, routine, and clear communication. He has adjusted very well to a consistent daily routine and is proving to be a thoughtful, responsive young dog. Wylie has been introduced to a neutral female dog and does great with her — both dogs are polite, relaxed, and respectful of each other’s space. He is currently working through slow, structured introductions with other foster dogs. These introductions are done gradually with obedience incorporated into every interaction, and Wylie has been very receptive and eager to learn.Dog social skills:• Outdoors, through fencing, Wylie is friendly and playful. He often invites interaction with play bows and happy vocalizations.• Indoors, in neutral spaces, he remains calm, relaxed, and appropriately social, even when dogs are able to sniff through fencing.• He responds very well to high-value rewards and positive reinforcement during these interactions. In areas he considers more “his space” — such as his kennel area or the office — Wylie can show some context-based reactivity. This does not appear to be aggression. Instead, it’s consistent with territorial or barrier-related behavior that is likely learned over time rather than emotionally driven. This type of behavior is common and manageable with structure. His foster mom who is a dog trainer has already begun addressing this with clear boundaries, structured obedience, and consistent commands like “leave it” and “quiet,” paired with fair corrections and strong positive reinforcement. Wylie responds quickly and learns fast.Because of this, adopters should be aware that similar behaviors could surface during the typical three-month decompression period after adoption. With consistency, routine, and clear leadership, this behavior has proven very manageable.Overall:Wylie is a smart, responsive, and promising young dog who thrives with structure and clear communication. He continues to make great progress and would do best in a home committed to routine, training, and helping him continue building confidence.I am crate trained, house trained, micro-chipped, neutered and up to date on my vaccines.Wylie's adoption fee is $350.00. Story
Application link https://forms.gle/mtaWGXgjgBRLat1T7 My name is AJ. My mother was found in a barn after giving birth to the 12 of us on October 10th. Mama was so exhausted, weak and hungry and most of all scared. Her milk was not even enough for the 12 of us because she had been abandoned and left on her own while we were growing in her tummy, but we nursed anyway just thankful for her warmth and her repeated licking and snuggling to comfort us. The kind loving Huddleston family found us and contacted Greg King Canine Recovery Dog Rescue for help. Our mom got all the food she needed and even learned to start trusting humans again! I promise I will be the best girl that I can if you will let me live with you and I would love to have some toys by myself because I don't get to play with the few that we have very much, because Miss Lindy says we all have to share. We are now weaned, (Mom says she could not be happier about that) and eating all the puppy food our tummies can hold. All I need is my own person, because the 12 of us have to share 2 people and we have to stay at the farm by ourselves while they are at work. I get very lonesome. Date of Birth October 10, 2025 The adoption fee is $150, if you pick up at our Rescue in Texarkana Texas. If we transport the puppy, it’s $75 for transport which has to be paid upfront, but the adoption fee is not paid until you pick up the puppy at the location you select that’s on our transport route.. Only the $75 transport fee is due to secure transport from our rescue in Texarkana, Texas to one of the 7 locations on our transport route. The $100 adoption fee is not due until you pick him/her up on the transport date at the location you select on the "Transport Roster Form" You also have the option to designate someone else to pick up your pet as long as we know in advance. If you haven’t yet seen our Facebook Reels of past adoptions and transports, please do so. The mother dog was a pregnant stray that had her 12 babies in a barn that provided warmth and safety and then food and love once they were discovered. We started NeoPar vaccinations and dewormers at 5 weeks. Puppies receive 3 puppy shots before they are transported. We provide a folder for you to take to your veterinarian when you pick up your puppy with medical records/information. Dominant breed information is based on physical traits of parents and puppies. Mother dog looks like an Anatolian Shepherd/Kangal Shepherd, possibly Boxer mix and we believe that daddy is a Great Pyrenees. Greg King Canine Recovery dog rescue is located at 484 Farren Road in Texarkana, Texas 75503. Once a month, we transport all pre-adopted dogs and puppies to the following 7 cities because all of the shelters in our area are kill shelters, so we try to save all that we can by getting them adopted and transporting them to their new homes. Because it is a 1000 mile transport one way, we have to leave Texarkana, Texas the day before you are scheduled to pick up of your new dog or puppy. I will provide a live Google Map link in order that you may follow our travel progress to pick up at one of these seven locations on our transport route, or if I have to stay at the rescue to care for all of our rescues, I will give you frequent updates of the transport's travel progress. Poplar Bluff, Missouri Arnold, Missouri Springfield, Illinois Bloomington, Illinois Rockford, Illinois Joliet, Illinois Kalamazoo, Michigan Please contact me, Latrell King, at 903-280-4233 for adoption questions. Please send a text before calling and then leave a voicemail because I don’t usually have my phone with me when I’m taking care of the puppies, cleaning kennels, feeding, vaccinating, etc. Cell phones are not puppy proof. I will return your call or respond to your message ASAP. I will explain the process with the approval of your application.
