Story
Handsome Adak, pronounced “ay-dack,” was named after an island in Alaska. Adak was a stray at a shelter that no one claimed. A happy boy that loves attention from his people, adults and children alike, Adak will come over just to be petted. And if you sit or lie down on the floor he will be right next to you. He is a little reserved when first meeting a new person, but once you’re in his pack, he will be your best friend. Adak is a smart boy who knows some basic commands. This may have something to do with being very treat motivated. He is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! A VERY playful boy, Adak requires a playmate or a long daily walk; and he enjoys patrolling the large backyard at his foster home. Adak also takes time out for some good naps. Adak LOVES other dogs and would be very happy to have a playmate in his furever home that matches his energy. We have not seen him around cats, but imagine he would be fine as he is a very gentle boy. Adak is crate trained and rides great in the car. He walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and he pulls some in excitement. We think Adak is a Maremma Sheepdog, a livestock guardian breed similar to a Great Pyrenees. At a year old, he weighs about 80 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
In February 2023, we rescued Jada and her sister, Kali, from a shelter. They were likely dumped puppies as no owner claimed them. A Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, 1 year old Jada is a fun loving girl who LOVES attention from people. Kid friendly, she gets so excited when the grandkids come to visit her foster home. She would do well with older kids in the home as her size and exuberance might knock littles over. Always up for a play session, Jada loves to wrestle and play and when she's worn out she's good for a nap! She doesn't quite know her size and has been known to fall off the ottoman! A confident girl, Jada is bonded to her sister and they need a home with no cats or other female dogs. Jada is potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. *Being fostered in Jackson, MO Jada weighs 82 lbs, is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements: *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Astrid's young owner found himself homeless and unable to take care of Astrid. Astrid has been in her foster home since July and done well with the other dogs in the home until just recently they are not getting along. For this reason we recommend Astrid be an only dog where she can have all the attention to herself. Have you ever seen a dog sparkle? That is 2 year old Astrid. Astrid was only 54 lbs when she came into rescue. Her hair was thin and brittle and her skin was in terrible shape. Now with proper nutrition she is 64 lbs with a thick glowing coat and beautiful, healthy skin. No wonder she sparkles! Her name originates from Scandinavia and means divinely beautiful. Astrid is such a happy girl; she loves to run and play and then she crashes! She loves her Benebones and treats and also likes to sit on the deck and survey her kingdom. Astrid is house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and is learning to walk on a leash. Being fostered in Mountain Home, AR Astrid weighs about 65 lbs, is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. Story
A Good Samaritan rescued Hunter from a home that wasn’t taking care of him and she contacted us to find Hunter a good home. This handsome devil is a very sweet boy who has plenty of personality! 4 month old Hunter loves to be with his people, is a good snuggler, and likes belly rubs. He likes to play with other dogs and would do well with a female dog in his furever home. Hunter’s foster home has four cats and he cohabitates just fine with them. Hunter is super smart; he knows sit, come, drop it, and is working on stay. He is also house trained- not one accident in the house ever- and walks beautifully on a leash. With his excellent communication skills, Hunter will let you know when he needs something whether it’s outside to potty or when he’s ready for mealtime. Being fostered in St Clair, MO Hunter is up to date on core vaccines, has been dewormed, and microchipped. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to spay/neuter at a later date and must show vet records at that time. Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. Story
In February 2023, we rescued Kali and her sister, Jada, from a shelter. They were likely dumped puppies as no owner came for them. A gorgeous 1 year old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, Kali has a big heart. She is very sweet and absolutely loves everyone she meets. Kali has a calm demeanor and will soak up all the attention you give her. Kali is great with kids and loves when the grandkids visit. She would do best with older children as she still jumps up sometimes and might knock little ones over accidentally. Kali loves to wrestle and play with her sister. Confident girls, Kali and Jada are a bonded pair that need to be the only female dogs in their furever home and are not fans of cats. Kali is very smart, a pretty good listener, and will alert you to sights and sounds. Kali is potty trained and she walks pretty well on a leash. Being fostered in Jackson, MO Kali weighs 90 lbs, is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. She is scheduled for spay in March. Adoption Requirements: *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois.
