Story
Max was born on a farm in upstate New York. We brought him home when he was nine weeks old. He is now four years old. It was challenging but we were able to completely house train him. He gets along great with our golden retriever but not with our cats. We have two boys with autism and this is where we have trouble with Max. They don’t understand each other and he often corners them as if corralling or herding them. We’re worried that his behavior towards the boys is getting too aggressive at times. We love Max but would like to rehome him before things get worse. He hasn’t harmed them but it makes us nervous because he is such a large dog. Hopefully we can find him a home where he can be cared for and loved.

Story
Name: Kerry Age: 3 yrs oldBreed: Great PyreneesWeight: 100lbsGender: female I would like to introduce you to one tremendously sweet Great Pyrenees named Kerry! If you look carefully in Kerry's photo, you will notice the stuffed cow toy she "Kerry's" around all day & then rests her head on the stuffed cow at night.  Previously, Kerry has spent many alone hours guarding her flock of sheep, but when the farmer sold the flock of sheep, Kerry was even more alone. These days Kerry truly enjoys spending her time learning the plush side of indoor life, as she follows her foster mom & dad around the house. Although Kerry loves all people (especially men!), at this time, cats & children are unknown.  Due to her larger size, it's recommended that Kerry be adopted by a family without small children. With her leash walking & potty training already established, Kerry is now focussing on learning her basic commands. If you are interested in meeting Kerry to witness her unbelievably sweet & cuddling nature, please contact www.716PAWS.org/adopt or if you are pre-approved, please message the Facebook page. ##2013890##

Story
I'm one of the Lily Transport! In 2014 Joyful Rescues returned from Tennessee with a little dog they called Fuzzy.  One look at her photo and we knew she was 'the one'.  Every day with this happy pup, now named Lily, reminds us of the tremendous gift Joyful Rescues gave us by saving her life.  So we dedicate this transport to Lily so that she, along with us, can 'pay it forward' giving more beautiful animals a chance at a happy life.  Sincerely The Artful Gardener (727 Mt. Hope Ave., Rochester, NY)   Chloe was born about June 18, 2014 and weighs about 85 lbs. Chloe is a Joyful Rescues sanctuary dog as she was adopted out twice and returned leaving us to realize she wasn't going to make it in the real world and she is perfectly happy right here.  Chloe has made it very clear that she has found her forever home. Chloe is a one man girl and will not be sharing her heart with any other male, only her foster dad at JR.  Chloe is what some may call “un-adoptable .” Joyful Rescues remains committed to our Sanctuary Dogs and Cats. They will stay with us for their natural lives and we will care for and love them. We will be their forever family. We wish we could do it alone but we need your help. We are looking for people who can help us with Chloe’s care. Please click the link below and donate. Chloe thanks you. https://www.paypal.com/donate   Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
