Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Precious is a stunning Pyr girl—truly a looker—with a long, silky-soft coat that perfectly matches her gentle, elegant nature. She has overcome a difficult past, having been found abandoned in a home with another dog and likely used for breeding and confined for much of her life, yet she remains incredibly loving and trusting. Housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained, Precious has wonderful house manners and an easygoing personality; she’s as close to perfect as they come. With a moderate-to-low activity level, she’s just as happy relaxing as she is enjoying a leisurely stroll, and she’s content in a home with a 4-foot fence since she isn’t a climber or escape artist—she simply loves being near her people. Precious gets along beautifully with other dogs, (but can happily live as an only dog), and is indifferent to cats and other animals. She does well with children, including young kids, and while she may be a bit shy at first due to her past, once she bonds, she loves deeply and wholeheartedly. She’s not a barker, not a digger, and carries herself with a calm, ladylike charm, enjoying both indoor and outdoor time—especially if it includes pets, snacks, or lounging in the sunshine. She delights in treats like dried chicken, salmon, Slim Jims, bone broth, and even a bit of cheese when she’s feeling fancy. With no known behavior issues, Precious is truly a gem: sweet, gentle, and endlessly affectionate, she adores snuggling into a big fluffy bed, soaking up attention, and simply being with her people. She would thrive in just about any loving home, bringing her quiet grace, warm companionship, and even a fondness for old movies—especially those starring Cary Grant!—making her the PYR-fect, classy addition to a lucky family. NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Precious in GA  Age: 2 yrs 1 mo old as of April 2026 Color: White with tan and black markings  Dew Claws: Yes, Double  Estimated Adult Weight: 115 lbs Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Hahira, GA  Medical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Housebroken: Yes  Can Be Placed With: Dogs, Cats, Kids  Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our Adoption Application. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Say hello to Maple, an absolutely adorable Great Pyrenees puppy who is ready to find her forever family! With her classic Pyrenees look and soft, fluffy medium coat, this sweet girl is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Maple is a well-mannered young lady who is both leash and crate trained, and she already knows "sit" and "wait" — what a smarty-paws! Her activity level is just right — she enjoys a good case of the zoomies now and then and loves to run, but she's equally happy snuggling inside or soaking up the sunshine on the deck. She rarely barks and has zero interest in excavating the backyard. When it comes to fun, Maple goes absolutely wild for squeaky toys and balls, and she thinks car rides are the greatest invention ever. She's even been introduced to the finer things in life — a little peanut butter — and, spoiler alert, she's a fan! She also enjoys unwinding with a little TV time, and has the most endearing habit of lying down to eat her meals. Maple absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs, whether boys or girls, and would love nothing more than a secure, 5-foot fenced yard and a canine brother to pal around with and show her the ropes. She's a bit timid and easily startled, so her ideal home would be with a loving, patient family who will let this gentle, sweet girl come out of her shell and bloom entirely on her own terms. She cannot wait to find her people! NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Maple in NJ  Age: 18 wks old as of middle of April 2026  Color: White  Dew Claws: Yes, single on one leg, double on the other  Estimated Adult Weight: 75 - 80 lbs - best guess  Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Highland Lakes, NJ  Medical: Pup will be placed on a spay/neuter contract with a date specified for the spay or neuter procedure to be performed by. Dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. This dog travels with an Interstate Health Certificate required by the USDA confirming that all the above criteria have been met. Housebroken: Working on it!  Can Be Placed With: Dogs, Older Kids. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Sparky, an adorable and energetic Great Pyrenees puppy ready to bring endless joy and cuddles into your home! With his classic Pyrenees good looks and a long, soft, fluffy coat that practically begs to be pet, this little guy is every bit as charming as he sounds. Sparky spent his first four months in a crate, but you'd never know it today! He has blossomed into a social, playful pup who is leash and crate trained, and can sit and lie down with treats. He is an active boy who loves walks, playtime, and any adventure you'll take him on. He does beautifully with other dogs — living happily with the resident five-year-old female Pyrenees, and friendly with every dog he meets on walks — and does great with kids of all ages. Sparky is a toy fanatic who also loves his cozy bed and wedging himself into the snuggest spaces he can find. When it comes to treats, this boy has excellent taste: apples, peanut butter, and the occasional french fry all earn his enthusiastic approval. True to his Pyrenees roots, he is wonderfully stubborn and will come to you on his own terms — but when he does, it's absolutely worth the wait! On the smaller side for a Pyr, Sparky is perfectly suited for an active family where someone is home often, since he thrives on companionship and loves being near his people indoors and out. His ideal home includes a secure, 5-foot fenced yard and a canine companion to match his playful, social spirit. If you're looking for a cuddly, less aloof, and wonderfully fun Pyrenees who will keep you on your toes and warm your heart every day, Sparky is your guy! Story
Sweetheart is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention, but somehow ends up with your whole heart anyway. At 5 months old, this tall and graceful Great Pyrenees girl is still growing into her destiny to be a possible 80 pounds girl.  She is currently  28 pounds and expected to become a stunning adult. Her name means “beautiful girl,” and it suits her not just because of her looks, but because of the calm, loving way she moves through the world. Her life didn’t begin with comfort or consistency. She was originally bought to be a guardian dog for a farm in rural Tennessee. Placed outside with no real interaction from the owner, she was with another older Great Pyr who was already working the farm.  Out of boredom, Sweetheart, started chasing the cows on the property.  This was infuriating and unacceptable to the farmer/owner and so he threatened to shoot her. The local shelter in that county asked Critter Cavalry Rescue to take her in to foster care before her life was ended so tragically.  When CCR rescue stepped in, she arrived shy but has quickly blossomed in to a calm and gentle soul that loves children and likes meeting new adults. That alone says everything about the kind of soul she has. Now in a foster home experienced with Great Pyrenees,  she is quietly blossoming. She had never lived indoors before, yet she’s settling in with remarkable ease. She isn’t destructive, doesn’t seek chaos, and seems content simply being near her people. House training is still new to her, but she’s learning steadily, trying her best in a world that is still very new. Sweetheart is wonderfully social in a calm, respectful way. She lives peacefully with other dogs and a cat, enjoying the comfort of shared space and gentle companionship. She adores belly rubs and has discovered the joy of stretching out beside her humans on the couch, soaking in affection as if she’s always known it was meant for her. She loves the outdoors, but she also listens when it’s time to come inside, happily choosing closeness over freedom. Toys are still a novelty, and watching her figure them out—offering soft play bows and tentative curiosity—is a reminder of how much joy she still has ahead of her. Like many Great Pyrenees, she has a thoughtful, independent streak, but it’s paired with kindness and an unshakable calm. Sweetheart is gentle with children, respectful with other animals, and carries herself with a quiet dignity that feels grounding just to be around. She has no bitterness from her past, only an open heart and a peaceful presence. She will be the kind of dog who brings comfort on hard days and calm on busy ones, the kind who makes a house feel like a home. She is good on a leash and doesn't pull which is remarkable. Sweetheart is ready for a family who values gentleness, patience, and quiet love. She needs a fenced yard and is not a good condo or apartment candidate.  Just not the lifestyle that a Great Pyrenees can thrive in. She isn’t flashy—she’s something better. She’s the kind of dog you’ll wonder how you ever lived without.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.   Please let us know where you live.  We adopt out of state to the northeastern states as well here in Nashville, Tn where the rescue is based.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 14, 2026, 9:57 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Say howdy to Ray, our floofy ray of sunshine! Ray is more than ready to find his furever family. Ray has good manners, understands his basic cues, and is very eager to please. You got treats? - Ask him to sit and he will go bum down and head tilted waiting like a good boy for his reward - what's not to love about that?! Just like his namesake, Ray is a ball of sunshine and playfulness, and he has this special talent of spreading joy and happiness wherever he goes. This sweet boy is always eager for some enthusiastic playtime with his foster siblings, and will lay down to play with the smaller pups! Ray is also content to entertain himself with a variety of toys. Once you see the fun he has with toys, it is almost impossible not to join in the play with Ray. He also walks well on leash, does fine on car rides, and tolerates brushing (he has an easy-to-maintain medium-length coat!). He enjoys the air conditioning, but also likes being outside as well, so a secure, 5’ privacy fenced-in yard would be great (he can climb chain-link). Ray is a confident pup, not showing any fears or dislikes, and he doesn’t dig. This lovely boy is quite the smart cookie, and he will thrive in a medium-to-highly active household without little kids (teens only), where his people will work with him to learn new tricks. We are pawsitive that Ray will be your best adventure buddy in no time! NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Ray in NJ Age: 4 yrs 4 mos old as of April 2026 Color: White Dew Claws: Yes, Double Estimated Adult Weight: 100 - 120 lbs   Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Hillsborough, NJ Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations, currently on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative. Story
I can be met by appointment in my foster home in Stormville, NY email info@pawsafe.org to set up a time. My name is Texas and I was born in Georgia. My foster mom says that I am good and smart boy and I am showing my true guardian self already. Besides my puppy food I like red, orange and yellow peppers, cooked chicken, black beans and yogurt in my Yippetor as well as marrow bones. I get along well with my foster brothers who are adult Great Pyrenees, a 25 pound cranky terrier and a 3 legged snarly Yorkie. I am a good follower and take the cues from the big boys. I am curious even when I am not sure of things so I am brave too. **** Update 4/12/2026 my foster mom put a collar on me and then a harness and a leash and she showed me how to walk with it and it was a piece of cake. She told me I was doing such a great job walking on the leash. I also got to meet her Mom's kitty cats. One took off before I knew what was happening and the other let me smell her before she ran. I tried to find her but she is magical and disappeared. How to meet dogs listed with "NY" : If the dog is listed with an 'Avail date" and a (location) - the dog cannot be met until the event and it is a first come, first served adoption event with the dogs being met in the order the potential adopters sign in. If the dog is listed as being in a (foster home ie: Foster in Carmel) please email us at info@pawsafe.org and we will set up an appointment for you to meet the dog(s) that interest you at their foster home(s). **** We are sorry, but we cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents. This is a Ma Dept. of Agriculture policy, not ours.
