Story
Sinclair is a delicious 10 month old, 80 pound Great Pyrenees pup. He still needs to grow and fill out more, so we anticipate he will top out somewhere around 110-120 lbs when fully grown. This poor boy had a rough start in life and came into animal control after getting his foot stuck in a trap. Sinclair is great with other dogs of all ages and sizes and loves both playing and cuddling up with them. He definitely needs a home with a canine companion. At the end of the day, Sinclair has the sweetest snuggles for his humans. He is a very loving boy whose tail is always wagging. This sweet boy is very much still a puppy and as such, enjoys getting into trouble but is learning to redirect. Sinclair is housetrained and working on his basic commands. He likes to alternate sleeping between a dog bed on the floor and in bed with his people at night.Sinclair is learning that he does not need to "alert" on every noise or new thing and has already made some progress in his foster home. Because of this strong breed trait, he is not suited for apartment or condo living and needs a home with a fenced yard.  Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
This gentle giant is Maximus, a five year old Great Pyrenees mix/Best Dog Ever. With a calm, patient, and loyal temperament he is unfazed by the happy chaos that can be part of shelter life, simply taking everything in stride. Preferring a predictable routine, he enjoys frequent walks with the dog manager at the other end of the leash, offering him sage advice, and chatting about their lunch menu. Warm and affable, he makes friends easily (both two and four-legged), due to his effortless charm and welcoming spirit. A stand-out in any crowd, you’ll immediately be drawn in by this mountain-sized canine with an even bigger heart. Take your adoption search to the Maximus…visit Little Shelter today! **Fun fact: In the 17th century, King Louis XIV adopted the Great Pyrenees as the Royal Dog of France, making them popular with nobility for estate guarding** *Maximus is fully grown and housebroken*

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Clint is a cheerful, lovable Great Pyrenees with a long, incredibly soft coat that makes him as cuddly as he is handsome. This sweet boy was found as a stray in Alabama, but you’d never guess it from his easygoing, friendly nature. He’s housebroken, leash trained, and even kennel trained in a 4’x6’ space, showing he already has a solid foundation for home life. Clint knows how to sit on command, and has a moderate, playful energy level. While he enjoys walks, he truly thrives with space to roam and play, ideally in a yard with at least a 5-foot fence. Clint gets along wonderfully with both male and female dogs and could happily live with a canine companion, or as your one-and-only. He absolutely loves meeting new people and greets everyone like a new best friend. While he hasn’t been around young children, his energy level suggests he’d do best with older kids who can keep up with his playful spirit. He’s not much of a barker, though he may chime in occasionally, and he enjoys spending time both indoors and outside—especially if you toss him a ball, which he’ll happily entertain himself with. Grooming is a breeze because Clint enjoys being brushed (he loves the attention!), and he doesn’t seem to have any fears—he’s just a chill, happy guy. One of Clint’s funniest quirks is his adorable habit of weaving figure eights in and out of your legs—it’s his favorite game and guaranteed to make you smile. He has a soft spot for an occasional hamburger (bun included!) and should be given high-value treats separately, as he can be a bit protective of those around other dogs. Clint’s ideal home would include a nice yard to play in, possibly a female dog companion, or a family with older kids to share in his fun-loving energy. Above all, Clint is a playful, gentle, and funny boy who brings joy wherever he goes and is ready to be someone’s loyal and entertaining best friend. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Daisy – A gentle beauty with a heart of gold, and has the kind of expressive eyes that stop you in your tracks. She is graceful, regal, and every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. While Daisy’s early life wasn’t easy—she was surrendered after living outside on a chain—she has blossomed into a truly special companion who has learned the best place to be is right where her people are. She happily squeezes in close for affection, soaking up chin scratches and kind words like sunshine. Her gentle nature suggests she would do well with children. She loves all aspects of a grooming session and eagerly offers her paw once you show her a treat—she learned “sit” in no time at all! She is the kind of dog who follows you around just to be near you, making her a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal shadow and a soft presence in their day. Daisy is dog-friendly and cat-curious enjoying meeting other dogs, greeting them with a happy tail wag. Her idea of playing is an occasional short game of chase and could live happily as an only dog, or with another laid-back canine sibling and dog-savvy felines who are comfortable sharing space with a curious but kind dog. She does guard her food from other dogs which can be managed with separate feeding places. Daisy walks beautifully on a leash, making her ideal for neighborhood strolls or peaceful hikes. She rides happily in the car, settles quietly in a crate when asked, and is respectful of fencing—though she is smart enough to notice if a gate isn’t secure! A 5-foot fenced yard is a must as Daisy prefers exploring along the fence line, calmly observing the world around her. Her ideal home is one filled with patience, guidance, and plenty of time for love and connection. Daisy is a sweet, gentle soul ready to leave her past behind and step into a future full of love. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will walk beside you, lean in close for affection, and reward you with quiet loyalty, Daisy may be your gal.   NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Daisy in KY  Age: 2 yrs 1 mo old as of April 2026 Color: White  Dew Claws: Yes, Double   Estimated Adult Weight: 85 lbs   Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Richmond, KY  Medical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Precious is a stunning Pyr girl—truly a looker—with a long, silky-soft coat that perfectly matches her gentle, elegant nature. She has overcome a difficult past, having been found abandoned in a home with another dog and likely used for breeding and confined for much of her life, yet she remains incredibly loving and trusting. Housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained, Precious has wonderful house manners and an easygoing personality; she’s as close to perfect as they come. With a moderate-to-low activity level, she’s just as happy relaxing as she is enjoying a leisurely stroll, and she’s content in a home with a 4-foot fence since she isn’t a climber or escape artist—she simply loves being near her people. Precious gets along beautifully with other dogs, (but can happily live as an only dog), and is indifferent to cats and other animals. She does well with children, including young kids, and while she may be a bit shy at first due to her past, once she bonds, she loves deeply and wholeheartedly. She’s not a barker, not a digger, and carries herself with a calm, ladylike charm, enjoying both indoor and outdoor time—especially if it includes pets, snacks, or lounging in the sunshine. She delights in treats like dried chicken, salmon, Slim Jims, bone broth, and even a bit of cheese when she’s feeling fancy. With no known behavior issues, Precious is truly a gem: sweet, gentle, and endlessly affectionate, she adores snuggling into a big fluffy bed, soaking up attention, and simply being with her people. She would thrive in just about any loving home, bringing her quiet grace, warm companionship, and even a fondness for old movies—especially those starring Cary Grant!—making her the PYR-fect, classy addition to a lucky family.
