Angel is a 1 year 3 month old Boxer/Great Pyrenees mix weighing 66 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her sister after an accidental pregnancy. Angel is a sweet and gentle girl with lots of love to give. She is looking for a home with lots of time, love and experience. She is nervous and shy with new people, places and life in general. Angel is unsure of strangers and needs help building trust and confidence. Once you've earned her trust you'll have a new shadow. We do believe she has separation anxiety. She'll happily crawl into your lap (does not know her own size), or sit behind you in the chair, circle around your legs and between your feet. She loves her chew toys, balls and ropes. Treat motivated and a quick learner. Working on learning how to walk on a leash as she had never been on one before coming to the shelter. She is accustomed to a fenced in yard being allowed on the furniture. Not housebroken. Fearful of car rides and thunder. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Guess who’s back for round TWO? It's Ambrosia! This big, fluffy Great Pyrenees girl originally came to FDHS at the beginning of September as a very skinny stray in rough shape. After receiving some much-needed TLC, she was ready to find her forever family, and we thought she had finally found her happily ever after. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t the right match, and Ambrosia is back with us looking for her second chance at forever.And to be truthful with you? We’re pretty happy to have her around a little longer, even if we wish she were already home. Ambrosia is a HUGE fan favorite here at FDHS! She’s been the star of a couple of adoption events and can usually be found lounging in our Director’s office, casually reminding everyone that she is, in fact, the goodest girl.Ambrosia is about as laid-back as they come. She’s calm, well-mannered, and perfectly content to quietly hang out beside her favorite humans while they go about their day. Sometimes she’ll snooze, sometimes she’ll supervise, but she’s never asking for much more than a little company. This fluffy lady is a bona fide couch potato and we respect her commitment to the lifestyle. She’s an angel on leash, keeps a clean space, and does well spending time in a fenced yard or on a tie-out. We were also told she did fine with cats, and she’s been very polite with the other dogs here at the shelter.She wants a peaceful home, a cozy place to nap, and people who adore her as much as we do.**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. He’s delightfully derpy—often running and barking at the wind or a falling leaf—then plopping down to rest his giant head in your lap for some serious snuggles.Hansel walks beautifully on leash and he would do well in many types of homes, from active families to quiet ones, as long as he has space to roam. This girl is one princess of fluff - she is shy at first in doggie playgroup but if the other dogs are gentle, she starts to bow and prance around to play. She dances and bounces like a bunny around the yard when she's comfortable. She is easily comforted by people and likes being near her foster family. Diamond loves being petted and brushed. She has a white/cream long coat with tan 'freckles' on her face. Diamond shows no signs of preferring being a 'working dog' and living with livestock outside. Instead, she finds her crate inside quickly and lays down to nibble her kibble one at a time. Diamond does not have leash experience, lays down and had to be carried to/from car and in Vet clinic. Car rides make her nervous, she did best in a crate for containment. Likely this girl had an isolated puppyhood in the rural county and not familiar with field trips; car rides and leashes. She is Quiet and does not growl or bark/whine when moved around. Guessed to be under 2 years old - just a teen! She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and on prevention (negative for heartworms). Housetrained, crate trained and part of a suburban foster home. Buddy is a one and a half year old Great Pyrenees mix. He came from a farm where he was allowed to roam freely. He was surrendered to FOCCAS because his humans could no longer care for him due to health problems. Buddy is looking for someone to put some time into training him in basic commands and house manners and take him on walks. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering.
