Story
Hello! My name is Addi!If you love Livestock Guardian breeds, I`m the dog for you! I will do my job and I`ll do it well. I`ll bark to let you know if anybody is thinking about coming on our property. But not to worry, I`m friendly with strangers! I also bark when seeing other dogs on leash but with a suitable match, I may be ok having some dog friends. Snow time is my favorite time! I would happily spend the whole afternoon running and jumping in the snow. I am very affectionate and snuggly and enjoy cuddling up with my humans. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, mature and respectful children who won’t be upset if I jump up in excitement.OTHER DOGS: Potentially, with a dog who won’t react back if I bark upon first meeting. I can get worked up and bark a lot when seeing dogs and therefore don`t make a great first impression. If you have questions or would like more information about how I am with other dogs before applying, please email adoptions@guelphhumane.caCATS: No, I like to chase cats.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has experience with livestock guardian breeds.FENCED-IN YARD: My preference would be a rural property. But in a suitable urban environment, I will require a fenced yard so I can spend as much time as I like playing and burying my face in the snow!HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Rural or urban with fenced yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, though I am active so being alone for a full work day might not set me up for success to start.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Sadie is a beautiful 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 75 pounds. She came to rescue from a GTA shelter and has proven herself to be a truly wonderful dog.   Sadie is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, housetrained, and crate trained. She is friendly with new people, does well with other dogs, and has shown no signs of aggression or resource guarding. While her experience with cats and children is unknown, her gentle, friendly nature suggests she would likely do well with proper introductions.   Sadie has basic training, knows how to sit, and walks on leash fairly well but could use some continued practice. She is moderately active and would enjoy a home that can provide regular exercise and companionship. Medically, Sadie has had successful surgery to correct entropic eyes, and an orthopedic evaluation confirmed that her bilateral patella's do not require surgery.   Everyone who meets Sadie—including multiple veterinary clinics, kennel staff, and fellow rescue partners—comments on what a sweet, deserving dog she is. Sadie is a lovely, well-rounded girl who is ready for a second chance and a forever home of her own. January 26, 2026, 9:41 am
