Story
Hello! My name is Addi!If you love Livestock Guardian breeds, I`m the dog for you! I will do my job and I`ll do it well. I`ll bark to let you know if anybody is thinking about coming on our property. But not to worry, I`m friendly with strangers and dogs! Snow time is my favorite time! I would happily spend the whole afternoon running and jumping in the snow. I am very affectionate and snuggly and enjoy cuddling up with my humans.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, mature and respectful children who won’t be upset if I jump up in excitement.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I would do well with a friend to run and play with!CATS: No, I like to chase cats.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has experience with livestock guardian breeds.FENCED-IN YARD: My preference would be a rural property. But in a suitable urban environment, I will require a fenced yard so I can spend as much time as I like playing and burying my face in the snow!HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Rural or urban with fenced yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, though I am active so being alone for a full work day might not set me up for success to start.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
About Frizz:Frizz is an almost two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a thoughtful nature. Great Pyrenees–type dogs are known for their loyalty, independence, and deep bond with their people, and Frizz carries those traits in a softer, more sensitive package. She can be a bit nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but she’s growing more comfortable every day. After recently raising three puppies and doing a wonderful job as a devoted mom, it’s finally her turn to be cared for and spoiled. Frizz enjoys toys, but more than anything, she loves being close to her people—and she’s known to give the sweetest hugs.Ideal Home:Frizz would do best in a quiet home where life moves at a calmer pace. She’s not a fan of other dogs and would be happiest as the only pet. A large property or big, securely fenced yard in a peaceful neighbourhood would suit her perfectly, as she truly enjoys being outdoors. Frizz hasn’t had much exposure to the wider world, so many things are still new to her. A patient adopter who can take things slow and help build her confidence will see her blossom.Training and Skills:Frizz knows basic commands and walks nicely on leash. She’s been working on car rides and has made great progress, becoming more comfortable with each trip. She responds best to gentle, steady guidance and positive experiences that help her feel safe.Favourites:• Being close to her people• Giving hugs• Spending time outside• Gentle play with toys• Quiet, relaxed environmentsDislikes:• Loud or busy environments• Sudden changes or overwhelming situationsHow to Adopt:If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday 11 am–6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618. Good with dogs, House-trained,
Story
This female Bulgarian Shepherd (best guess) is approximately 2 years old, weighs 75 lbs, and is spayed. She is fully house-trained and demonstrates good leash manners during walks. She enjoys spending time outdoors and particularly thrives in colder weather, showing a strong preference for being outside in the snow. A fenced yard with room for her to run and do her dances would be lovely. We have not had an opportunity to see how she reacts to car rides. As a herding breed, she is intelligent, alert, and naturally driven. Due to these herding instincts, she is not recommended for placement in a home with young children. She would be best suited for an experienced, active adopter who understands working or shepherd-type breeds and can provide appropriate structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. Sadie would do well in a home that values outdoor activity and can meet the needs of a confident, capable companion. She is good with the the three dogs in the foster home with her but Sadie seems to prefer dogs that are also confident and on the bigger side. She plays well with the small dogs but she does not seem to understand the size difference. Sadie sleeps in her bed in the back hallway at night and is left roam the main area of the house when everybody is out. She has learned to walk on the ceramic floors but she is still afraid to walk on the laminate so area rugs or runners will be needed if your floors are slippery. Sadie is a fun, loyal, well behaved girl who deserved to have that person who will devote themselves to giving her the love and structure she wants.February 13, 2026, 8:40 am

Story
Cloud | Male | 3 years 6 months old | Great Pyrenees Weight: Approx. 32kg Cloud is a stunning Great Pyrenees with a soft, fluffy double coat. True to his breed, also known as a Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Cloud has a gentle and cozy exterior with a strong and protective inner nature. He’s not just calm and friendly—his gentleness comes from a deep-rooted confidence, as he believes in protecting those around him. Cloud has a sweet, peaceful personality, but don’t let that fool you. Beneath his calm demeanor, he has a firm sense of responsibility and determination to protect his surroundings. Though he’s a bit shy, you’ll quickly sense his trust and strength. Cloud is a high-energy dog, so he would thrive in a home with a large yard. He loves being active, playing, and running around. Daily outdoor activity is essential to keep him happy and healthy. He’s playful and enjoys both eating and having fun, showcasing his cheerful and innocent side. Despite his past, where he was abandoned at a shelter, Cloud is quick to warm up to new people. While he hasn't had much basic training yet, Cloud is highly intelligent, and positive reinforcement, such as treats, helps him learn quickly. He may pull on the leash during walks out of curiosity, but he’s improving with practice and guidance. Cloud is also great with other dogs, including smaller ones. He’s big in size but still exhibits the endearing behaviors of a puppy, which make him even more lovable. Cloud would be best suited for someone who understands the Great Pyrenees breed or enjoys large dogs and is looking for a companion to enjoy daily outdoor activities with. If you're ready for a loyal, loving companion and are willing to provide training and structure, Cloud will be a lifelong friend, offering deep love and trust in return.
