Story
A King Who Just Wants a Castle to Call Home Meet King; a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever mix with a calm spirit and a heart full of love. King may be a big dog, but he is as gentle as they come. He adores kids, gets along beautifully with other animals, and finds happiness in life and enjoys long walks, ear scratches, treats, and naps in the sunshine. His goofy side shines through when he races inside and slides across the floor with a wagging tail. King is intelligent, well-mannered, and already knows how to sit, lay down, and ask for what he needs. He is ready to share his gentle heart with a forever family who will love him as much as he will love them. 💛

**It is strongly encouraged to research the Great Pyrenees breed prior to considering one for adoption. While they are wonderful dogs, they are not for everyone. She came to us with both knees luxated, and while we hoped to do surgery, two surgeons told us the results would be poor and lack in promise. As a result, we opted not to put her through the surgeries. Despite her handicap, she continues to run and play, and act very much like a Pyrenees. She has no desire to slow down, unless you plan on hugging and snuggling with her. She likes to lay her head in your lap and let you pet her for days. Janie is a smaller Pyr, which is good for her knees, so she comes in around 84lbs. She has a very wooly coat that requires a lot of brushing, so establishing a groomer would be recommended. Janie may be slightly aloof when first meeting people, but she can also be happy to say hello. When it comes to canine friends, she would be lost without a buddy, preferably a fun, easy going male who will play with her but not too rough. She very much enjoys playing!Janie will most likely need a wheelchair as she ages and has difficulty walking. Meanwhile, she sees no problems in sight and is happy to jump on the play train and protect the yard. She is an inspirational girl, and while we were going to let her reside in the sanctuary (and she's welcome to do so), we thought we'd give her a chance at a home where she'll be adored and be doted on daily. We know her fun, silly, devoted personality will make someome smile every day! ##1854023##

SOCIAL MEDIA HASHTAG:  #libbylou AGE: 8yrs (11/25)WEIGHT:  106lbsWORKING LGD:  NO - family pet only DOGS:  OK - Can be bossy at times. MEDICATIONS:  Supplements to help her breathing SPECIAL NEEDS:  Libby came to us very afraid of beeps and loud noises due to being required to wear an electric collar. She has come so, so far, and does very well, minus some storm anxiety. We don't think she'll have noise phobias in her new home, but don't know for certain, so her new family must understand there could be a little flashback due to the stress fo a transition to a new home. She will, however, still be afraid of storms. Her supplements help her in this regard. ***She is also a fence climber/jumper and can scale a 6ft fence. Will need to be supervised in yard and never off leash outside of the fence. ANXIETY:  Storm anxiety.BARKING:  High EXPERIENCED OWNER NEEDED:  Yes CRATE TRAINED:  Yes but doesn't love it and may not need it permanently. Needs giant sized crate. HOUSE TRAINED:  Yes GOOD IN CAR:  Yes FUN FACTS:  Libby is a delightful character and shows great affection for everyone. She enjoys snuggling, loves to give hugs, and she is extremely gentle and kind...outside of her Pyr Paw, which is very strong when she opts to use it. She does okay with dogs but can sometimes be dominant and overly bossy, so she'll need someone experienced in handling interactions between dogs, as well as understand it may be a little more prominant in the beginning. She is well behaved and loves to go on walks. Lizzy has a very big bark and while she isn't excessive, it's LOUD, so being mindful of close neighbors is important. She also has a nubbed tail that is cute as can be. **PLEASE READ FOLLOWING INFORMATION IMPORTANT:  Libby will NEVER be allowed off leash when outside of a 5-6ft fenced yard, even for potty breaks or walking to the car. She will bolt, and while she may be past it at this point, she is capable of climbing/clearing a 6ft fence without hesitation. She enjoys going on walks and is great on a leash, so someone who likes to take a few daily walks would be ideal (NOTE that Libby is NOT a jogger or long distance runner). She is a big girl, though, so her adopter needs to be comfortable holding her on a leash. Libby is well behaved indoors, but will require a giant crate when someone isn't home to protect her in case she becomes afraid of a sound or storm. We feel she would enjoy the company of another quiet, gentle dog but it is not required. She will require patience during the transition, however. Libby is a LOVELY girl with a tremendous heart who is adored by everyone she meets. She is charming, affectionate, kind and all around wonderful...but she does require someone who will understand her needs. ##1239538##

Story
Duke is a purebred Great Pyrenees. He is an outside dog. He is bored at our home and needs a farm with a job to do. He is food aggressive with other animals. When food isn’t involved he is fine with others. Loves all humans. My 12 year old sister is his favorite person. Is a digger.. he’s dug holes all over my yard. Isn’t house trained. Only eats dry kibble with water or wet food involved.
