Story
Brew is an approximately 4year old male Great Pyrenees. He is a large boy about 165 pounds. For the first 3 years of his life, he was in a bad situation where he was abused and neglected and came to us about a year ago. For the most part has been a loving and good dog. He loves being outside as much as possible! He loves laying in the sun and playing in the snow, and he hates when we make him come inside when he isn’t ready to! He is very protective of his home and his chosen people. Very typical Great Pyr behavior! Strangers MUST be introduced to him slowly and in a very controlled environment. He has had some behavior issues that are common to the breed that have improved some with time but can still be a struggle. Such as barking, nipping, and resource guarding. After our year with him we believe the type of home and family that would suit him best would be with an organized and disciplined routined home. He would do well with older children but I’m not sure how he would be around smaller younger kids. He does well with other dogs in the home and at the dog park. He is a big couch potato and loves to lay around. He would love to have plenty of space to spend time outside as much as possible. ***Also to be fully transparent he has had a couple of issues where he has nipped people he has deemed as threats. Both times occurred when someone had come into the house before we could get Brew secured. One time resulted in a small bite on the hand and the other was just a charge. Neither time resulted in any damage and they definitely were learning experiences about how to introduce Brew to strangers in the future*** Brew’s family is having a baby and would like to rehome Brew prior to baby arrival. We do have a trainer that can work with some of these behaviors if you are interested in meeting, Brew. He has not had prior training experience and we do believe he would benefit from it and a home with large guardian breed/Great Pyr experience! Please share, currently living in Clinton, TN. Brew will be updated on all vaccines, heartworm test and is already neutered.

Story
Gibbs is a three year old Great Pyrenees. This gentle giant is good with female dogs, large and small, seems okay with cats, not as fond of other male dogs. Gibbs enjoys long walks and meeting new people, is house trained, polite, treat motivated, and knows basic commands. He is searching for a family to give him love and affection and will give it back ten-fold. Gibbs is the perfect guardian to be your new best friend and be by your side. Please call to make an appointment to meet this sweetheart.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Greetings! I'm Fluffy! My best friend, Poe, and I were allowed to wander the streets. Our owner just didn't care. I was pregnant at the time. Our rescuer begged for me to be able to come into rescue. So, our owner dumped me and unexpectedly and luckily dumped Poe too! I am a very pretty girl that is about three to four years old. I am mostly fluff and I weigh around eighty pounds. We are the friendliest duo and are exceptionally loving! We adore people and other doggies. We do love children but I can get excitable, so small children may get overwhelmed. We are true buddies. You will always find us hanging out together. We enjoy adventures and would follow you to the ends of the earth. All you have to do is make us yours! Love,Fluffy & Poe *Guest Posting**Discount for two!***Adoption Fee $275 for both If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, tell us and we will email it to you.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm
