I love feeling the breeze, exploring the yard, sniffing all the interesting smells, and finding the perfect sunny spot to stretch out and watch the world go by. The outdoors is definitely my happy place. I'm a sweet, friendly girl who enjoys spending time with my people. Whether we're wandering around the property, relaxing on the porch, or just enjoying a quiet afternoon together, I'm happiest when I'm close to the people I love. I think I'd be happy in a home with a room to roam—maybe a place in the country where I can enjoy nature and all the sights and sounds that come with it. Remember me? My name is Zora, but I've also gone by the name "Dolly". Sadly, this isn't my first time being at AHHS. I have now been returned twice; neither time was my fault. I am a large dog, which means I'm easily misunderstood. I weigh around 85 pounds, but please don't let that intimidate you! I have so many good qualities: I have a unique appearance; I bond with my person(s), and there's nowhere else in this world I'd rather be! I have the softest floppy ears, and my eyes are ones you won't forget. I am 3 years old, but I've been in and out of the humane society since I was a pup. **Meet Asher 🐾** Asher is a big, handsome young dog with a friendly personality and a lot of potential. At just over a year old, he’s still growing into himself and learning how to navigate the world, but he already enjoys people, activity, and being part of a routine. He does well meeting new people and enjoys outings like walks and time spent exploring. While he’s not especially toy-driven, he stays engaged through interaction and benefits from regular exercise and structured activity. Asher is also **very food-motivated**, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. Asher has received some basic obedience training and responds well to a **confident handler** who can provide clear guidance. He can be excitable at times and may pull on leash, but he looks to his person for direction and continues to make progress with consistency. He currently attends doggy daycare and enjoys playing and socializing with **female dogs**. He is best suited for a home without male dogs, as he can become uncomfortable around them. Dog parks are not recommended, but he can do well in more structured, controlled social settings. Asher is accustomed to grooming and tolerates **baths, brushing, nail trims, and professional grooming** well. He will require regular brushing (2–3 times per week) to maintain his coat. He is also prone to ear infections in one ear, so routine ear care will be important. With cats, Asher shows curiosity but tends to be cautious. He may be able to coexist with a **dog-savvy cat** who maintains boundaries, though supervision and a thoughtful introduction process will be important. Asher’s ideal home will provide **structure, routine, and confident handling**, along with opportunities for continued training and engagement. Yuki is a 3 year old 86 pound Great Pyrenees! He is being fostered in Huntsville,AL and is available for transport and the approved adopter will be responsible for the transport fee. Yuki was primarily raised as an indoor pup without other pup playmates, so exhibits some stress when alone. He has loved being at his foster’s with a big yard and other dogs to play with. He does well with dogs of all sizes and has quickly realized and become sensitive to the fact that he is too large for some of his 20 lb playmates, which is really good. He has become pretty gentle in his few weeks at his fosters, primarily because he gets a lot of outdoor play time. He does need a pup playmate close to his size that provides him a since of security. He has been diagnosed with a seizure issue and takes daily medication, levetirace, for it. His foster is still learning about him, but so far, he is just a great happy boy.
