Story
Millie is a very sweet Great Pyrenees who's looking for a forever home. She has only had limited experience being inside a house, so there are many things she's not yet accustomed to, but she's a very loving girl. She has been around alpacas, but she cannot be trusted around chickens, unfortunately. Millie is up to date on vaccinations, and has not been spayed, so that's a task that her new owner would be responsible for. If you'd like more information on Millie, please contact Laura at (360) 708-0083. Thanks for looking!

What my friends at OHS say about me:I came from a special rescue case and have a lot to learn. The amazing staff and volunteers have been teaching me how to wear a collar, getting used to a leash, and what it means to be a human's best friend. I'm still learning how to be a companion dog. I may never be comfortable with a lot of change in my life, busy environments or dog parks. It will be important to spend a few weeks with me in a secure back yard before trying to introduce me to new places, people or things. I am at my best when I get a lot of support and do better with people I have built a trusting relationship with.If I become afraid or startled, I might try to bolt or may pull a leash out of your hands. The type of home I require: I must go to a home with a fully fenced yard. No apartments or busy neighborhoods.Everyone living in the household will need to meet prior to my adoption.I will need to meet any resident dogs first before going home with you.To learn more about, my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout. My adoption process: OHS has created a more in-depth adoption questionnaire, which can be accessed via the "Meet Me" button at the top of the profile.Once it is reviewed, you will receive an email with a link to schedule a phone consultation. After your consult, if it feels like a good match, your adoption counselor will schedule an in-person meet and greet and you will meet me with our volunteer and staff handlers. If you fall in love, you will have the option to come in and spend time with me to build a relationship prior to adopting! What my friends at OHS say about me:My foster mom said that I can be described best with a single word: gentle! I might start off shy, but once I get to know you, I'll greet you with happy wags and bump your hand for pets.Looking for a dog that's housetrained? I haven't had a single accident in my foster home!It will be important to spend a few weeks with me in a secure back yard before trying to introduce me to new places, people or things. I am at my best when I get a lot of support and do better with people I have built a trusting relationship with.Even in my senior years, I really like to romp and play with the other dogs in my foster home! I might enjoy having other pets in the home.I have some previous injuries to my hind leg that makes it a little harder to get around, but I'm still enjoying life and would love to be your companion around the home, in the yard and on short neighborhood walks! What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment. To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment. My previous foster parents (who have nicknamed me "Toe Bean") say I'm the best! They said I loved the outdoors, watching my favorite TV show (Bluey), & playing with my pittie foster brother.I had so much fun meeting other dogs here in the shelter. My friends at OHS think I would be great at making new dog friends! I can't wait to find some new best friends to chase, wrestle, cuddle, and walk with!In my foster home, I did really good with potty training!I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!The type of home I'm looking for:I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I may do best in a home where there is another dog to help boost my confidence and for me to play with!I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, I would do best in a home with calm, older children. It could be with you! Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
We are heartbroken to be rehoming our beloved dog due to a divorce and a move out of state where pets are not allowed. Lola is 5; 90 lbs. Adopted at 5wks. She is a sweet, loyal dog with a friendly, people-oriented personality. Her mom was a Maremma/Great Pyrenees mix; Dad: Lab mix. Lola’s personality leans more Lab-like, with lower energy. Enjoys play and activity, then calm inside. She loves walks, exploring, and bonding with her people. Crate trained, house trained, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and understands basic commands. Protective of her home and will alert you when someone is outside. Prey drive with small animals in her yard. Guards' food outdoors only. Kibble/treats that do not contain chicken. Lola would thrive with an individual, couple, or family who enjoys being active with their dog and providing structure and engagement. She is a loving, affectionate dog who forms strong bonds and is looking for a stable, caring home where she will be part of the family.

Story
We are heartbroken to be rehoming our beloved dog due to a divorce and a move out of state where pets are not allowed. Jig is 5, 90 lbs. Adopted at 5 weeks. Very special girl; quiet, calm presence that makes her easy to live with. Mom: Maremma/Pyr, dad: Lab mix. She takes strongly after the Pyrenees: calm, stoic, observant, and protective of her home. Will let you know if someone is outside but is not reactive or high-strung. Loves to cuddle and be near her people. Outside, she patrols and plays. Inside she settles beautifully for naps and quiet time. She is crate trained, house trained, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and knows basic commands. Some prey drive with small animals in her yard; home without small livestock or free-roaming critters best. Perfect for family, couple, or single person looking for a loyal companion. She isn’t a working dog, she’s a companion at heart who enjoys walks, adventures, and relaxing at home with her people. She truly is a special girl.
