Story
Tandy is generally a sweet, playful boy. His genetics as a guardian are strong, and he loves to patrol his fenced in area and like a true pyrenees will bark at any passerby or leaf falling from a tree he doesn't agree with. Last March, Tandy had a knee injury the vet described as a freak accident that landed him with a luxating patella. We got him surgery and went through a multi month rehabilitation plan to get him back to proper health. Unfortunately since that surgery, his demeanor with us and our other animals has changed and he's become very prone to resource guarding and fighting with our other big dog. It has reached a point where we keep him largely separated from the other animals. Tandy would do best with someone experienced with large breed guarding dogs with strong personalities, who can be patient and positive working with him, and the most successful situation would probably be as the only animal in the house. Adults and kids would need to be savvy with guardian dogs.

Saint is a really loving boy. He would be a great addition to anyone’s family. He loves absolutely everybody and all animals. We are unfortunately reached trying times financially and we are starting to get really busy. So we don’t have the funds or the time to keeps this boy. He is need of a home that has a lot of space and possibly other animal friends to look after or play with. We are unable to transport him so you will have to come pick him up.

PLEASE DIRECT INQUIRIES ABOUT ADOPTABLE DOGS TO OUR FACEBOOK. WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS VIA EMAIL DUE TO LIMITED STAFF. OUR CONTACT IS THROUGH FACEBOOK MESSENGER. https://www.facebook.com/REDRescueEveryDog/ Katya is a 1.5 year old (DOB 2021), spayed, Great Pyrenees (GP). GP dogs are a livestock guardian breed. Katya has been a very sweet girl in her current caregiver’s home and farm. She likes people she meets. Note: she has had no experience with young children. She lives with other dogs and, in that situation, is considered a lower member when it comes to pack dynamics. She has been good with horses and mule livestock. At this time, she is NOT free-range chicken approved. She has been easy to bathe and groom. When she doesn't like you brushing or something, she'll just gently take your hand in her mouth. That is a very normal GP reaction. Since she is a Great Pyrenees, she barks when outside and can hear, smell, or sense change or predators, as this is a livestock guardians’ job. Like all great Pyrenees, she will dig holes and has dug under fences. This is a thing for many GP. They are an amazing breed but require a bit higher-level dog skills and involvement that create kind pack leadership. Most dogs require a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. A sturdy, high quality crate is also required (due to safety concerns, no wire or soft crates will be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). We will be considering homes in W. Wa and possibly Oregon, no other out of state adoptions at this time. Adoption donation is $450.00 to help cover his neuter, daily care, vetting, etc. THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER CARE IN POULSBO, WA. MEET AND GREETS WILL TAKE PLACE THERE AS WELL. REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION: - Securely and visibly fenced yard - Sturdy/safe crate, due to the safety hazard wire crates will be not be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). - Western Washington (WA), and possibly Northern Oregon locations at caseworker discretion. No other out of state adoptions at this time.
