PLEASE DIRECT INQUIRIES ABOUT ADOPTABLE DOGS TO OUR FACEBOOK. WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS VIA EMAIL DUE TO LIMITED STAFF. OUR CONTACT IS THROUGH FACEBOOK MESSENGER. https://www.facebook.com/REDRescueEveryDog/ Katya is a 1.5 year old (DOB 2021), spayed, Great Pyrenees (GP). GP dogs are a livestock guardian breed. Katya has been a very sweet girl in her current caregiver’s home and farm. She likes people she meets. Note: she has had no experience with young children. She lives with other dogs and, in that situation, is considered a lower member when it comes to pack dynamics. She has been good with horses and mule livestock. At this time, she is NOT free-range chicken approved. She has been easy to bathe and groom. When she doesn't like you brushing or something, she'll just gently take your hand in her mouth. That is a very normal GP reaction. Since she is a Great Pyrenees, she barks when outside and can hear, smell, or sense change or predators, as this is a livestock guardians’ job. Like all great Pyrenees, she will dig holes and has dug under fences. This is a thing for many GP. They are an amazing breed but require a bit higher-level dog skills and involvement that create kind pack leadership. Most dogs require a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. A sturdy, high quality crate is also required (due to safety concerns, no wire or soft crates will be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). We will be considering homes in W. Wa and possibly Oregon, no other out of state adoptions at this time. Adoption donation is $450.00 to help cover his neuter, daily care, vetting, etc. THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER CARE IN POULSBO, WA. MEET AND GREETS WILL TAKE PLACE THERE AS WELL. REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION: - Securely and visibly fenced yard - Sturdy/safe crate, due to the safety hazard wire crates will be not be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). - Western Washington (WA), and possibly Northern Oregon locations at caseworker discretion. No other out of state adoptions at this time. ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adoption please fill out an application here: http://www.rescueeverydog.org/Adoption.php Answers to the application MUST be sent via message on Facebook (we do not receive applications sent via email) 1. Once the application is received it will be reviewed by that animals caseworker. 2. FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet the Easter litter. These puppies were actually an 8-pack that we split with a California rescue. It's a last litter and we will have the mom dog spayed for the family. DNA just came in and WOW - what a fun mix of pups. They came from a ranch environment so a lot of it makes sense. At about 10 weeks old, the are in the 11 pound range - and DNA weight guidelines actually said they would be in the 50-60# range when fully grown. Mommy (pictured here) is about 60# - we thought she looked like a collie mix. Currently in foster homes, they are learning all things puppy - create training, housebreaking, and more! Peep is a big chunk of love. He's very sweet, all the siblings are. We are working on more photos! This puppy is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need more puppy shots at 13 weeks, and at 17 weeks. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They will cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your children’s toys and maybe even the furniture. But… once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions! The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience). You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. Adoption applications may be approved in just a few days depending on how quickly references respond. If you are planning on a vacation or have an issue that may delay your ability to pick up your puppy within a few days of approval, please let us know in advance. We will be at an event in Arlington on Saturday 4/18 with these puppies. You must have a pre-approved application prior to taking a puppy home. Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Iceman – 2 Month Old Great Pyrenees Mix Meet Iceman, an adorable 2 month old Great Pyrenees mix with the softest fluff and sweetest personality. His mom is a Great Pyrenees mix, and based on dogs seen in the area, we believe dad may be a pure Great Pyrenees. While that is not guaranteed, we do expect Iceman to grow into a large, fluffy adult dog. Great Pyrenees are a livestock guardian breed known for being loyal, intelligent, and naturally protective. Iceman will likely have these traits as he matures. Because of this, we are looking for a home that is familiar with or willing to learn about livestock guardian breeds and their unique needs. At this age, Iceman is a typical young puppy who enjoys being held, playing, and exploring his surroundings. As he grows, he will need structure, consistent training, and space appropriate for a large breed dog. Iceman is: Neutered Microchipped Up to date on vaccines and preventions Adoption Fee: $250 Local Adoption (in Texas) $550 Out of State Adoption (includes transport to your area) If you are prepared for a large, loyal companion and understand the needs of guardian breeds, Iceman could be a wonderful addition to your family.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Mia! Mia is a 2-year-old, 56 lb Pyrenees/Malinois mix who is currently thriving in her foster home and now ready to find the perfect forever family! Mia is an incredibly sweet, loyal, and people-oriented girl. She loves being with her humans and would be happiest in a home where someone is around often or can take her along for adventures. She’s affectionate, cuddly, forms deep bonds, and just wants to be part of everything her people do. Mia needs a standalone home with a yard (no apartments or condos) or a large property/land to run, play, and explore. This girl loves stretching her legs! Mia is fantastic with other dogs and absolutely loves to play — fetch, chase, wrestling, toys… you name it, she’s in! A doggy sibling would be a huge bonus for her. She’s also extremely food motivated, which makes training fun and easy. She’s very smart and has an impressive list of tricks: she knows sit, down, lay down, shake, come, spin, and even crawl. She’s so clever she can even open jars! Mia will thrive in a home that keeps her both physically active and mentally stimulated. She’s an enthusiastic eater with some adorable quirks — her favorite fruit is apple, and her favorite veggie is celery! Mia can be a bit attention-seeking at times, so she needs adopters who can give her plenty of engagement, structure, and affection. She could do well with respectful, dog-savvy kids 12+ and needs a home with no cats. Overall, Mia is an amazing, fun, affectionate, intelligent girl who just needs an active, attentive home where she can be included, loved, and kept busy. She will make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a smart, playful, loyal best friend! Mia is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Rosa! Rosa is an almost 2-year-old, 60 lb Pyrenees mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA and is ready for a fresh start! True to her Pyrenees roots, Rosa is sweet, gentle, and a bit in her own world at times. She enjoys going on walks and adventures with her people, walks well on leash, and is treat-motivated. She has a gorgeous, big fluffy coat with striking silver along her back that makes her stand out just as much as her calm presence. Rosa is currently dealing with some leash reactivity, which we believe is largely due to stress from the kennel environment. She will need slow, thoughtful introductions to other dogs, time to decompress, and a consistent routine to help her feel safe and settled. A home with a yard and a quieter, more predictable lifestyle would be ideal for her. She would also do best in a home without cats I could potentially do okay with children 12+. With patience, structure, and a calm environment, Rosa has all the makings of a wonderful, loyal companion. She’s looking for a home that understands her needs and will give her the peaceful life she deserves. Rosa is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
Meet Austin! This Anatolian shepherd mix is still in training and will only be placed with a home that understands the breed and will work with Austin to keep up the progress he is making. Austin, like many rescue dogs, had a rough start to life. He is very shy around new people and takes a while to warm up to them. He was born in June 2020, so he is still fairly young and would benefit from ongoing training and human companionship. In his time at WAG, he has spent time with a similarly sized female dog, so he might do well with a canine companion. Austin is looking for a calm home, so children may be overwhelming to him.   Visit our website to fill out an Adoption Application http://www.wagsequimwa.com If you have any questions, please email: office@wagsequimwa.com.
