Story
A beagle on wheels!  The smile on Margot's face would never reveal the horrors that got her to where she is today.  Margot was surrendered to the shelter with no use of her rear end after she had been dragging herself around for FOUR MONTHS!  She had the sores and rashes to prove it.  While we will never know what happened to her, we know that she has a will to thrive and live her very best life!  She has adapted well to her wheelchair and loves her evening walks, where she is quite the neighborhood celebrity :)  Recently she went on a 5-mile walk, so she has great stamina and just wants to be included. Margot loves meeting new people and dogs of all sizes.  She LOVES to play!  And she loves being pet, picked up, held, any attention. Margot does need to have her bladder expressed 3-4 times per day as she does not seem to have the ability to urinate on her own readily.  But she doesn't mind at all!  At home, indoors, she does not stay in her wheelchair and happily scoots around the house to wherever the action is.  She easily slides down off the sofa and can slide down stairs without a problem, she just can't go up stairs.  But since she is only 18-lbs it is easy to carry her up anywhere she needs to go.  Margot's wheelchair and drag bag (for scooting around outside without the chair) will go with her to her adopting family. Story
Chop Suey was in ROUGH shape when he came to us, so underweight, terrible skin, and he had chewed on his tail so much we expected to have to amputate it. Thankfully, with good meds and even better nutrition, he is looking so much better already. Choppy gets along well with other dogs and would love a home with canine siblings and long walks. **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment.
