Story
Lemon Drop arrived from Texas on 9/1 after being picked up as a stray. Age is still a guess. The shelter thought she was a senior, but her teeth and energy level say young adult. 25lbs Spayed Female Beagle Mix — she seems to be a Basset/Beagle mix (a Bagel Hound). Definitely a long-bodied, low-rider hound dog. Lemon Drop is a sweet, happy girl with moderate energy. She quickly attaches to her people and wants to be part of whatever they are doing. She is very people-oriented, but does best with calm, confident direction and clear expectations. Give her something to do and she is game. Good on a leash. She is up for walks, exploring, sniffing, and adventures, with her nose naturally leading the way. She has a very good sense of smell and is an entertaining little hound to have along. Good with other dogs after slow introductions. She can be opportunistic and mildly pushy, but responds well to structure and redirection. Occasional barking when appropriate and minimal howling. Not destructive. Sleeps, eats, and relaxes well in her crate. Very happy girl who is ready for adventures and would do well with someone who enjoys having an involved little hound sidekick. Medical: - Up to date on basic shots (bordetella, rabies, DHPP) - Heartworm , 4DX Negative - Microchipped - Spayed - Fecal negative - No medical concerns at this time

Story
Meet Cotton. This sweet Beagle / Dachshund mix couldn't be more beautiful if she tried! At just about 2 years old and 25 lbs, Cotton is the perfect size for neighborhood strolls (once comfortable in her environment), long walks in the Colorado mountains, car rides to dog-friendly destinations or fun backyard play. All would speak to Cotton's love of coming along and being with her family. She would love nothing more than to spend a day of play and walks followed by crashing on the couch for belly rubs and snuggles all night long. We rescued Cotton from a small Arkansas shelter, where she had just had 7 puppies who all were sent to another local rescue. Cotton was left at the shelter waiting for her turn, and we knew we had to take her! Cotton is very friendly, and great with other dogs. She is a happy, social girl! Cotton will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their dog. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. A car ride is also always great, especially if it leads to a fun, dog-loving spot. At day's end, a spot on or beside the bed all night will speak to the loving nature of this little dog. Cotton has a lovely tri-colored coat that is currently shelter-sad. Once she is given the gift of sudsy baths and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect for longevity and coat care) her coat will become the cottony-soft hair that speaks of her good health. Current research is very clear that the best diet we can provide for our pets is a fresh, human grade diet. Farfel's recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) due to our personal experience with our own dogs. It's one of the most important choices we make for our dogs great health and longevity. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Cotton out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. Cotton will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to support our hopes for zero future growth in the canine population. Cotton will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 9/16/2026.
