Story
If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Joey is the pup you want to have around! Joey, at 10 months old and 24 lbs is just naturally a lover, and when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Joey is a beautiful and sweet as can be Beagle / Dachshund mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes. Farfel's received a plea from Rescued Pets Movement in Houston to save the life of Joey who was scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described this Beagle / Doxy mix as wonderful, sweet and just about perfect in his temperament and general demeanor. Joey is a cuddler and snuggler all the way! He loves to to cuddle close on the couch for TV watching or just hanging out with his favorite people is just about perfect for this sweet best friend. An occasional kiss from Joey, once comfortable in his new home, is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very kind dog who derives so much joy from his time spent with his favorite people and his doggy friends. Joey is a young, playful and silly pup who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another gentle dog to play with, although it's not necessary if his family is involved and present. Joey will have so much fun exploring, and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with other hikers is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. He is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude...just say the word and up Joey jumps for a car ride, a fun backyard game or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood. Joey's rescuer had the following to brag about this sweet guy: Joey is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! We would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet pup. We'd hate to see Joey left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Joey will thrive on spending the days near his people...getting loved up, periodically throughout the day is a dream come true for our sweet Joey. Joey's Texas foster mom share the following with us: There's lots of tail wagging when Joey is around, but this little guy is still a bit shy when people approach him. He walks well on a leash and likes to be at your side or behind. He does gets a bit startled when people suddenly appear from behind him. He'll get over this as he becomes more confident and bonded with a family. So far Joey has been 100% house broken with no accidents. He enjoys going on walks with my dogs and loves to be in the backyard exploring. This wonderful pup is very well-behaved for a young guy and sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to my bed. I work part-time and Joey has the run of the house while I'm gone and has been perfect! He takes treats well, has no food guarding challenges and absolutely loves to play with my dogs. I can say without reservation that Joey will be an excellent companion for a dog-loving family. Farfel's would like to see Joey in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt Joey out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Joey will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his coat cottony-soft and very healthy. We've requested that Joey be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too many rescue dogs and not enough vets to care for them in this area of Texas. If it doesn't, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Joey's neuter and microchip following his transport to Boulder if one of our rescue vets is used. Joey will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 3/6/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Joey please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Walter, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** There's nothing like sweet puppy energy and silliness! They make us smile and laugh so easily with their silly wiggly bodies! After a long day of work or just life in general, watching your puppy run and skid across the floor will always put a smile on your face. Walter is believed to be a Dachshund / Beagle mix. At just 4 months old and 9 lbs (estimated to be about 25 lbs full grown), he is a perfect size to hike the Colorado trails and then at day's end, snuggle close all night long. Walter was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX, where he found himself stuck in a tiny, scary kennel after being relinquished with his littermate. From Walter’s foster: “Walter is the best puppy ever!! He’s so fun and wiggly and sweet. He loves the kids and lets them hold/handle him. He is truly the best!!” Since Walter is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. He will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Walter is up to date on his shots, although will still require a few more as he gets a bit older, before it is safe to go out on public ground. He has yet to be neutered. We cover the cost of his neuter at our approved Vet Clinic. Neuter is required to be done before he turns 1 year old, and required to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.

Incredibly smart 9 months old No cats These Things Best Describe Ranger Food motivated Toy motivated Cuddler Loves his people Good around other dogs Basic obedience High energy RIDICULOUSLY CUTE Are you looking for a silly, charming, showoff who is a secret cuddler? Ranger may be right for you. He is a good natured puppy who enjoys the company of other dogs. He is a hound mix with a sniffer that the greatest bloodhounds would envy. He is not cat or other small animal friendly as that sniffer of his will not give up. Ranger is so smart and loves to please. He has taken to training like a hound to sniffing – he’s a natural! His training has been treat focused, positive reinforcement and force free. He knows Sit, Stay, Leave It, Doggie Zen, and Gentle. He’s mostly got Down (laying down) but is still working on it. He is not kennel trained and loves to sleep alongside his people. While most of his destructive puppy days are behind him, he is still a high energy pup that needs the companionship of a kind human to help reinforce manners with love. Kids are great but Ranger doesn’t understand how strong or heavy he is so older kids are best. He is housetrained and uses a dog door. Please visit MFDM.org to fill out an adoption application!

Story
Meet Churro! This sweet 2-year-old beagle/border terrier mix is looking for his forever home. Churro has had a difficult start to life - he and his sister were surrendered to a person as young puppies and did not receive much positive human interaction. Understandably, this has made Churro a very shy and nervous boy. But Churro loves other dogs and gets all his confidence from canine companions. When around other dogs, he really comes out of his shell! He enjoys playing, though he can be a bit spazzy and fast which leaves his playmates in the dust. Churro will need a very patient, adult-only home with no children. His new family must allow Churro ample time and space to learn to trust at his own pace. Confident resident dogs are ideal to help Churro continue building confidence. He will also need a securely fenced yard, as his terrier instincts make him prone to chasing small animals. While Churro may not become the world's cuddliest dog, he has so much love to give to a patient, understanding family. He just needs extra help overcoming his shy nature to thrive. If you can provide the right environment for this sweet boy, apply to meet him today at www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication!

Story
Meet Prince, our affectionate young Beagle Heeler and maybe boxer Mix puppy. Prince is likely to be a medium sized dog fully grown.  Here is the bio his foster wrote about him:Prince is the firstborn of the Pumpkin patch litter, and though he may be the smallest he’s also one of the mightiest. He’s not overly talkative, but will let you know when he needs some cuddles or help. He’s still navigating going down the stairs, but is learning quickly how to use his tiny legs. He is incredibly affectionate and loves taking naps with his foster humans, and loves chewing on rope toys and antlers. He loves meeting new people, and is a bit timid when exploring. He’s the type of pup to follow the lead of his humans closely. He is very submissive when playing with his littermates, but never turns down a good game of tug of war with his humans. Prince is good with dogs, cats and kids. Prince is currently living with his 3 siblings and his mum in his foster home but he is ready to be adopted as he is already around 10 weeks old. Prince's mum was a 30lb beagle heeler mix.  Prince is vaccinated and microchipped, ready for his new Colorado home and lifestyle. He is around 10 weeks old and weighs 15lbs. His neuter is included in the adoption fee, which is $600. Prince knows just how miraculous a turn his life has taken when he was picked out by Havok’s Wolfpack and he is determined to live his new life to the fullest in the most playful and adventurous way, hopefully, with you. If you are interested in adopting Prince, please submit an adoption application here: www.havokswolfpack.com/adopt If your application is approved, we will contact you promptly. ##1911043##
