Story
Meet Loretta – A Hardworking Cat Looking for the Purrfect Job!Loretta was found living outdoors and has shown us that she’s an independent spirit who prefers life on her own terms. While she’s a beautiful and resilient cat, Loretta isn’t particularly social and isn’t comfortable being touched or handled. With time and patience, she may grow more trusting—but right now, she’s an ideal candidate for our Hardworking Cat Program.About Hardworking Cats:Living indoors with humans isn’t an option for every cat. Barn cats, often referred to as working cats, are not suitable candidates for adoption as typical house pets. During their early life stages, many of these cats had little or no exposure to humans, which led to under-socialization and a natural fear of people. While some hardworking cats may eventually warm up to human interaction, others prefer minimal or no contact at all.Why Adopt a Hardworking Cat?Adopting a hardworking cat like Loretta not only saves a life—it also creates a mutually beneficial partnership between you and your feline coworker. These cats provide natural, non-toxic rodent control and quiet companionship, all while enjoying a safe, comfortable space to call their own. What They Need:Your hardworking cat will need a permanent building or structure to call home—this could be a barn, stable, warehouse, outbuilding, factory, plant nursery, or brewery. During the initial three- to four-week acclimation period, Loretta should be confined to a secure cat condo or large kennel to help her adjust and recognize her new home. After acclimation, she’ll need ongoing shelter, daily food, and fresh water on a consistent schedule so she learns where to find safety and care. Routine and emergency veterinary care should also be part of your long-term commitment. If you have a safe outdoor space and are looking for a low-maintenance, life-saving companion to help keep your property pest-free, Loretta would be the perfect hardworking cat to join your team!

If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate friend to share your cozy moments with, Sheba might be your perfect match.
