Story
Meet Nova… the brightest little star in the adoption galaxy!
Currently being fostered in Toronto, Nova is an 8-year-old, 18 lb terrier who’s ready to launch into the next chapter of her life. Nova is not only adorable but her personality is absolutely out of this world.
This sweet little star loves people and absolutely shines when she’s getting attention. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick to orbit your life, Nova is ready to be the centre of your universe. She’s happiest soaking up affection, heading out on adventures, then returning home to recharge for another day of stellar companionship.
Nova is truly a supernova when it comes to other dogs! She gets along beautifully with her foster siblings and is friendly with the dogs she meets on walks. She’d be over the moon as your one-and-only or would happily join a home with other furry friends. She’s even met cats and, while she’s definitely curious, she’s simply hoping they’ll join her constellation of friends.
Her favourite mission? Exploring Planet Earth! Nova is fantastic on leash and absolutely loves walks and being outdoors. She’s also completely house trained with zero accidents in foster care. She’ll even give a little whine to let you know when it’s time for a bathroom break - or when dinner should make a safe landing. (She’s very food motivated, after all!)
Like any star finding her place in a new galaxy, Nova can sometimes be a little unsure of herself. She may bark if she hears noises inside or outside, but with gentle redirection and a confident person to guide her, she’s learning that everything is A-OK. She may also bark when left home alone, but settles after a few minutes once she realizes her humans always come back.
Every star has its own gravitational pull, and Nova has a few boundaries that help her feel safe. She can be protective of her food bowl, so she’d like to enjoy her meals without anyone approaching or taking her food. She can also be protective of her bed while she’s resting, so her forever family will need to respect her space. In return, you’ll earn the trust of a truly remarkable little girl.
Nova is searching for an adult-only home. She was surrendered after struggling to adjust to a new baby, so she cannot live with children. She deserves a family that understands her, respects her boundaries, and lets her shine at her own pace.
Once Nova knows she’s safe, her light shines brighter every day. She sleeps through the night, loves a lazy morning, and won’t even leave her cozy bed when her foster gets up during the night. This little star takes her beauty sleep very seriously!
Nova doesn’t need the whole universe… she just needs one family who sees her for the wonderful little star she is. Could you be the one to give her a forever home where she can truly blast off into her happiest life?
