If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online. Oh George … there are so many words that describe Mr. Personality, and they include handsome, smart, curious, energetic, and ‘good boy.’ This boy is pure entertainment on four paws and wrapped in a beautiful chocolate and white fur coat! He has always lived with other small dogs and he is very social with friendly dogs. Having another small, friendly dog to play with will probably make his adjustment to a new home much easier. And even though he can be a little stand-off’ish when first meeting new people, once he knows he can trust you, he is an absolute love bug. Approximate age/birthdate: May 21, 2021 Weight/size: 15 lbs Housebroken: He will go outside to go potty, but being unneutered before 3 years old, he does still have an issue ‘marking.’ If you take him out often and use belly bands when loose in the house for a while, the marking should lessen as the hormones drop. Crate trained: YES Personality: happy, playful, curious, love bug that loves to explore Energy level: medium (with bursts of high) Fenced yard required?: YES so he has a safe place to play and explore. Any time he is outside of a securely fenced area, he must be on a harness and leash for his security. Fenced yards are so much more fun than just leash walking! (I quote the pups.) Does he/she jump fences? NO Leash walk with manners: YES Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK Spayed/neutered: YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES Microchipped: YES Social with other dogs: YES Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster care, but we’re sure he would be curious about them. Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. Adoption donation: $250 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if George picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
