Story
Hi, I’m Seabourn, and I’m a happy little Havanese boy pup with a gentle heart and a big sense of adventure. Nothing makes me light up like going for a walk. I absolutely love being outside — exploring, sniffing, and burning off my puppy energy. I get along with everyone - big dogs, little dogs, cats, chickens, kids - you name it. Once I’m comfortable, I’m the sweetest little buddy you could ask for. A play pen helps me take breaks, and I settle in there pretty quickly. I like being able to see you, though. I love keeping an eye on my people. And I’m doing great with potty training. I go outside every couple of hours, and I’ve been keeping my playpen clean, even overnight. I sleep in my playpen, too. Usually the whole night through. I’m a curious little guy and always on the move — the world is just too exciting right now for long cuddle sessions, though I think that will come with time. I’m looking for an active, loving home that enjoys walks, exploring, and helping a young pup grow into a confident, happy dog. I’ve got a big heart, a gentle soul, and the cutest little face — and I can’t wait to find my person. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Rue is a Havanese puppy. He is the sweetest boy! He loves to be around people. He follows his people everywhere. He loves other dogs, big and small and is very playful with them. He’s still trying to win over cats. He wants their attention badly, but they aren’t so sure.. He is great on a leash and loves running around the backyard. Rue sleeps through the night, in the people bed. Once he’s asleep he’s out until morning. You don’t even notice him on the bed. He takes little naps throughout the day, either on a dog bed near his people’s feet as they are working. Rue does pretty well with potty training, he goes out multiple times a day. He warmed up to his foster folks right away, but took a few days to adjust to children. He lays on the couch with them now, lets them cuddle him, and wakes them up in the morning by jumping on their bed and licking their faces! He’s social and likes to be around people once he’s comfortable. He’s also great in the car. He eats in him the AM and PM, but seems to like to eat his food in stages instead of all at once. He grazes throughout the day. He drinks a lot of water. He’s also a big fan of treats and likes eating from his puzzle activities. He likes chewing on bones and playing with his ball. He’s very chill, rather than being a really a high energy dog. -----

Story
Meet Louie! Cutie pie Louie is hoping for a loving home.  Louie is a high energy, bright, people oriented little dog who loves walks. He is no couch potato and needs a good amount of activity every day. He likes to be held and nestles to be close. He does not seem much interested in other dogs; he has not had a lot of opportunity to play with them. He ignores cats.     He is an endearing people oriented little dog. He loves to be held, to snuggle close and to have his chest stroked or lightly scratched.  Louie can sometimes bark at other dogs on leash. This is a very trainable behavior and our trainer can offer advice and support. Louie is mostly potty trained but does need frequent reminders or he may have an accident. Easy access to the outside is best for him so an apartment may not be the best situation for Louie.  Louie has a sensitive stomach and skin. He is on a specific food for this and receives Cytopoint injections to help him with itchy skin.  Louie is neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
