About Riley:
Meet Riley! Your Resilient, Loving, & Gentle Cuddle Bug
Riley is a young adult poodle mix whose sweet soul shines brighter every single day. She came into rescue with long, matted fur and a heavy heart, feeling scared and unsure of the world. But with a fresh haircut and a few days of patience, warmth, and gentle love, Riley showed us who she really is: a deeply affectionate, loyal companion who just wants to belong.
While it takes her a little time to settle in and trust new people, once Riley feels comfortable, her devotion is unconditional. She transformed from a nervous pup who was afraid of touch into a total lovebug who constantly seeks out a spot right by your side.
Riley's Highlights:
* Great with Everyone: Gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids!
* Home Preference: While she does great with other animals, Riley would prefer a quiet home where she can be the center of your world as an only pet, or paired with a calm, senior dog who respects her space.
* Potty Training Champion: Almost 100% house-trained! She even goes to the door to let you know when she needs to go outside—you just have to be quick to catch her signal.
* Non-Destructive & Gentle: She has no destructive habits and respects your home while you're away.
Because Riley loves her people so deeply, she does experience a bit of separation anxiety when you leave. Whether you step out on the front porch or leave for a few hours, she will sit by the door and bark for about 5 to 10 minutes before settling down quietly. Because of her vocal announcement, she would do best in a single-family home rather than an apartment or townhome with shared walls.
Riley has come a long way from the frightened girl who first arrived, and she is ready to open her heart to a forever family who will cherish her gentle nature. If you have a little patience and a lot of love to give, Riley will repay you with a lifetime of loyalty!
Riley is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age.

Please consider saving the life of an animal in need and become a volunteer foster home today. To become a foster, fill out a dog or cat foster application on the Twin Cities Pet Rescue website: www.twincitiespetrescue.org. There is little to no cost to foster an animal. Twin Cities Pet Rescue provides its foster families with food, supplies, and veterinary care for its animals. All you need to do is supply the love!
PLEASE NOTE: Twin Cities Pet Rescue will consider adoption applicants from many parts of the country. However, preference will always be given to applicants within 100 miles of the Twin Cities area, which includes parts of Wisconsin.
