Story
Meet Alfie! This sweet, playful pup (about 5 years old) is full of personality and love! He’s got that “big dog energy” in a little body—always ready for fun, adventures, and a good cuddle session after. He’s super affectionate, easygoing, and loves being around people just as much as he enjoys playing with other dogs. He walks nicely on a leash, making him a great companion for strolls or outings. He’s still working on potty training, but he’s a smart boy and learning quickly with consistency and love. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun addition to your family, this little guy is ready to steal your heart. Alfie will do best in a home with a yard.  He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $525.  We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Meet Cheddar! Cheddar is a approximately one-year-old, 10-pound bundle of fluff, charm, and pure joy who’s ready to steal your heart. This happy-go-lucky little guy has been thriving in foster care alongside two humans and four larger male dogs—and he fits right in. Cheddar lives for playtime. Whether he’s joyfully wrestling or zooming around the yard, he brings enthusiasm, confidence, and just the right amount of goofy fun to every interaction. Even better, he keeps things friendly and respectful, making him a fantastic companion for other dogs. He will most likely be happiest with another dog in the home. Being an only dog does not seem his preferred situation. He’s also impressively easygoing when it comes to mealtime. Cheddar shows no signs of food aggression—all five male dogs eat together in the same space without any issues. That kind of calm, social behavior is a huge plus in a multi-dog home. Cheddar is the perfect balance of energy and affection. When he’s “on,” he’s all in—full-speed play, tail wags, and pure zest for life. When he’s “off,” he melts into a total cuddle bug, happily curling up in your lap, on the couch, or beside his furry friends. He’s also a world-class love distributor—Cheddar has a hilarious habit of getting right up in your face to deliver enthusiastic kisses, making sure you never forget how adored you are. And don’t be surprised if you hear his signature little “grrrr”—it might make you pause at first, but it’s actually his adorable way of expressing total happiness when he’s getting belly rubs, scratches, or love. At night, Cheddar is a dream. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night long without a peep until morning—something he came into foster care already knowing. While many dogs in the home sleep in bed, Cheddar naturally chooses his crate, leaving his future family the flexibility to continue that routine or transition him as they see fit. He’s still working on being fully potty trained and currently wears a belly band in the house, but he’s already showing great habits overnight. With a little consistency, he’s well on his way. Cheddar is a lovely small dog with a huge personality, overflowing with love, fun, and happiness. He would make a wonderful addition to most families. The only unknowns: we’re not sure yet how he does with cats or young children under 10. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion who will keep you smiling every single day, Cheddar is your guy. Cheddar is scheduled to be vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Story
Vidal is a miniature Poodle and is a smart, curious, loving little boy. This little guy is an adorable, curly-coated pup with a soft chocolate and white coat and the sweetest, expressive eyes. He has a poodle-leaning look with tighter curls, giving him that classic low-shedding, allergy-friendly coat. He’s bright, curious, and very engaged with people. He loves being near you, watching what you’re doing, and is quick to respond to attention and interaction. He seems very smart and eager to learn, and he is doing great with training. He has a playful, energetic side but also enjoys being held and snuggled once he settles. His smaller size makes him especially easy to handle, and he would likely do well in a home looking for a companion dog that is both interactive and affectionate. He has slept in a laundry room and at night in an xpen. Vidal goes potty right when you go outside. He still has some accidents inside on pee pads as well as the floor. But the awareness when he goes outside that it’s time to go potty is there. He is a quick learner with positive support. He is good with other dogs, children, and cars. Did well in the car, does well with water (baths), plays well with other dogs (only tested with one other dog his size), and great with kids. Vidal would make a wonderful family dog. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
