Story
-----Applications are currently closed, I can't remove the profile yet----- Recently inherited her from my father, but because of apartment policy I can't keep her. We adopted her in 2016, and she was a few years old at that time, so she's around 13 I think. But she seems much younger than that, she's still very active and playful. She definitely has some years left in her. Owners with backyards would be preferable, as she grew up in a home with easy access to a backyard and has trouble holding in her pee for walks because of it. She gets skittish around other dogs, especially big dogs, but got along very well with a cat in the house for many years. She might be able to adjust to living with other dogs, but I'm not sure since she's never done it. I can drive her to your home.

Story
Meet Moku — cuddly, curious, and full of puppy charm! This little fluffball loves exploring every corner of the house, chasing toys, and settling in for cozy couch cuddles. He thrives on connection and is happiest when he’s close to his people—during the day, he often naps on his foster’s desk while they work, and in the evenings he’s content lounging nearby. At night, he sleeps in his own bed in a gated-off bathroom connected to the bedroom. Moku is making good progress with potty training. He’s having success going outside and using a pee pad or a small patch of fake grass just outside the home. Like most puppies, he still has some accidents, but he’s learning with consistent trips out every couple of hours. Moku is great with other dogs, wonderful with children, and has an easygoing temperament that would make him a great fit for many different types of homes—especially one that’s ready for all the fun (and occasional mess) that comes with puppyhood. ----- A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means: ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment. ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking, crate comfort, or appropriate chewing). ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed. Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are. Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Currently in a toronto foster home Meet Bam – A Sweet Soul Ready for a Second Chance Bam is a 5-year-old male Poodle weighing approximately 6kg. He was rescued from a breeding facility, where he spent his early life in a cramped, cold wire cage. Despite his difficult past, Bam has shown incredible resilience. He has completed treatment for heartworm and is now well on the road to recovery. His health has greatly improved, and so has his spirit. Bam absolutely adores people. He craves human affection and will lovingly follow you around, always wanting to stay close. He prefers the company of humans over other dogs and truly thrives in one-on-one interactions. Due to his past, Bam still needs some help with house training and may show signs of separation anxiety when left alone. However, with consistent love and a secure environment, he has every potential to grow into a confident, happy companion. Bam is looking for a patient and compassionate family who can offer him the warmth and love he’s longed for. If you have a gentle heart and room in your home, Bam might just be the perfect addition to your life. Give Bam the loving forever home he deserves.
