Story
Rajah is a bit of a grump, but we can’t blame him. This boy has been through a lot since his owner has passed, and he just wants some stability in his life. He will his at you upon meeting him, but don’t take it to heart…he is just scared of yet another change in his life. He gets along with other cats and can coexist peacefully with the right introduction. Remember, it’s all about a slow introduction. He couldn't care less about dogs but will hide from them. Rajah is a high stress kitty, which means any new change will cause him to shut down and hide. It will take him a couple weeks to adjust to his new home. It helps having other cats, that makes him feel more at home. Rajah is an "on his terms" type of cat. He loves pets but will let you know when he's had enough by taking a swipe at you. He is a great companion for the right home who understands that he just likes his space. If you believe Rajah is the kitty for you, please submit an application https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/695ee83f445d015e420e3cf1

Story
LIZZY- 6 Years Old, DOB: 7/4/19, No Other Pets, Good with Older Kids.  Lizzy was surrendered for not getting along with the other cat in the home causing stress on Lizzy.  Lizzy is BEAUTIFUL, Sweet once comfortable, Very clean, Independent, and Playful.  Lizzy does enjoy being outside, her previous owners would let her outside with a tracker. This can be dangerous. We love that Lizzy wants to explore nature but she would need to do that with her person in a harness being walked around, or in an enclosed catio (which are super cool by the way). Catios will make it so she can be outdoors, but safe in her own space.  She is just in a back kennel, Ask to meet her!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 12, 2025, 6:24 pm

Emily is being virtually fostered by Built By Bennett. We thank Built By Bennett for giving Emily additional exposure so we can get her adopted right away! Learn more about them at builtbybennetts.com. HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Fine with cats but happy as a single left alone DOGS: No dogs KIDS: No small kids KNOWN LIKES: Head scratches and Churu lickable treats KNOWN DISLIKES: Chaos, loud noises, handled too much ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Emily is a beautiful Himalayan mix, senior kitty. She was one of many cats left suddenly without a home when her human died. To keep her out of the shelter, she came to a foster home where we are getting to know her. Her world has been flipped upside down when she should be safe in comfort for her final years. Can you give Emily a safe place to land? She’s happy as a single cat in a calm home but she’s used to other cats so can easily live with them if they give her space. She keeps to herself and is happy to have head scratches from her human and then to sleep the day away in a sunny patch or in her covered cat bed. She loves nothing more than a good Churu lickable treat. Emily is 16 years old and is an easy-going girl with love to share if given a chance. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption.
