For questions, email saufenka@yahoo.com. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: You can meet this cat in a foster home. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Shana, saufenka@yahoo.com ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES spay, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! Emily is being virtually fostered by Built By Bennett. We thank Built By Bennett for giving Emily additional exposure so we can get her adopted right away! Learn more about them at builtbybennetts.com. HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Fine with cats but happy as a single left alone DOGS: No dogs KIDS: No small kids KNOWN LIKES: Head scratches and Churu lickable treats KNOWN DISLIKES: Chaos, loud noises, handled too much ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Emily is a beautiful Himalayan mix, senior kitty. She was one of many cats left suddenly without a home when her human died. To keep her out of the shelter, she came to a foster home where we are getting to know her. Her world has been flipped upside down when she should be safe in comfort for her final years. Can you give Emily a safe place to land? She’s happy as a single cat in a calm home but she’s used to other cats so can easily live with them if they give her space. She keeps to herself and is happy to have head scratches from her human and then to sleep the day away in a sunny patch or in her covered cat bed. She loves nothing more than a good Churu lickable treat. Emily is 16 years old and is an easy-going girl with love to share if given a chance. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities. BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2593991##

Story
We adopted Ruby (Himalayan mix although you wouldn't tell with how he looks) with his sister. His mom was Himalayan and dad was unknown. He is 7 years old and super friendly! Very great with kids. Loves being around them and is tolerant and gentle with them. Unfortunately, after 6.5 years with no issues living with his sister, the 2 no longer get along. He is in great health and is a sweet lap cat.

These cats are in Fairfax, Virginia too!

Story
Adam and Julia are two gorgeous Persians. Julia is the momma to Adam. This mother/son duo came from the streets. The worse part of this is they are blind through no fault of their own. Their kitty ophthalmologist examined them and said it was a genetic condition. Julia is a very sweet 3 to 4 year old buff colored girl. She is more on the petite side. Loves attention and to be petted and brushed. Adam, her son, is larger in size than his momma. He is buff and white. Adam is shy. He loves to be petted and kissed on his head but will need time to adjust which is natural considering his handicap. We would love to adopt them out together. Home should be quiet and not too many steps. Please open your heart to this lovely pair of Persians. Who rescued who… ** We would love a foster home for them to allow them to stretch their legs. ** Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Trafil is a handsome young male kitty found roaming the busy streets. A lady out shopping took him home until a rescue could be found. He has that gorgeous charcoal grey coat that is unusual. Trafil is a lovely sweet friendly cat. He was obviously owned at one time. He likes to be petted and brushed. He gets along well with other cats. We would like to see him adopted into a home with another pet so he can play and interact and have fun. He has not been tested on dogs or kids but should be fine. Fostered in Fairfax, VA.

Story
Kerry is a gorgeous, creamy white Persian with light peach colored hues like a flame point. We are thrilled to have with us. She is blessed with beautiful blue eyes. Kerry was rescued from a busy street. Just left there like rubbish. Thank goodness a good Samaritan carried her off to get her to a safe place. Kerry was very matted and had to be shaved and cared for. She is 9 lbs but most all of her is long white fur. She looks like a big heavy cat but she is not…just fur. Kerry has a lovely personality. Gets along beautifully with other cats. Likes to be doted on. Since she has very, very long plush fur we would like her to go to a home experienced with long hair animals. She will need to be brushed and groomed. Open your heart to this sweetheart.
