Learn more about them at builtbybennetts.com. HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Fine with cats but happy as a single left alone DOGS: No dogs KIDS: No small kids KNOWN LIKES: Head scratches and Churu lickable treats KNOWN DISLIKES: Chaos, loud noises, handled too much ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Emily is a beautiful Himalayan mix, senior kitty. She was one of many cats left suddenly without a home when her human died. To keep her out of the shelter, she came to a foster home where we are getting to know her. Her world has been flipped upside down when she should be safe in comfort for her final years. Can you give Emily a safe place to land? She’s happy as a single cat in a calm home but she’s used to other cats so can easily live with them if they give her space. She keeps to herself and is happy to have head scratches from her human and then to sleep the day away in a sunny patch or in her covered cat bed. She loves nothing more than a good Churu lickable treat. Emily is 16 years old and is an easy-going girl with love to share if given a chance. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. Story
Sandy is a gorgeous white Persian long haired lady with blue eyes. Those blue eyes will melt one’s heart. Her life before coming to us was not great at all. Not loved or wanted after she grew out of kitten hood. We think she is under 2 years. Sandy is so sweet and delicate. Loves human attention such as petting and scratching. She hasn’t been with us very long for her true colors to come out but one can tell she is an overall great cat. We would like Sandy to go to a home experienced in grooming and/or caring for long haired cats such as Persians. Fur maintenance needs to be a regular part of her care.

Story
Casper is a very handsome 2 year or so, white Persian boy we are thrilled to have. We were sent a video of poor Casper looking for food next to a busy street. We knew immediately he needs a safe home and our rescue can make that happen. Casper is very sweet and gentle. Likes attention and to be petted and doted on. He is so much fun. Loves to run around and play with the other foster cats. His fur is a little ratty due to neglect but with good grooming he will look stunning. Because Casper is a long haired cat we prefer he goes to a home with experience caring for long haired cats. Regular grooming is important for Persians as well as regular eye care. Story
Winston is a very handsome young adult boy that we are thrilled to have in our rescue. This long haired black and white approximately 3 year old boy came from awful beginnings. He was left on a busy street to fend for himself. He is a big fluffy kitty. Since he has been in rescue, his fur has glistened. Winston is very active and loves to play with those plastic swirly toys. He adores human attention and seeks it out. Don’t be surprised if he jumps up on the sofa and chews on your hair. He does have a heart murmur which has been checked out by a specialist. He is so strong and healthy. No medication or special diet. It needs to be known that as he gets older his heart needs to be checked out by a cardiologist. Other than that he will live a good life. Winston is very social so we would like to see him in a home with another active cat. He was in a foster home with dogs and does fine with calm dogs who don’t get in his space. Please give Winston a deserving loving home. He is a very, very special kitty. Only apply if you are committed to taking care of any future needs he may require. Fostered in Fairfax, VA
