Story
Kiara is a stunning adult pure bred Himalayan girl we just love. She was probably bought from a breeder as a kitten and the family just abandoned her. This sadly is what happens where she came from. Kiara is stunning. She has that thick, long beautiful brown coat of a Himalayan. She came to us dirty and underweight but through good food she has blossomed When she first arrived she ate so fast like it was her last meal. She is extremely outgoing and friendly. Loves people attention. Enjoys petting and brushing. Does great with other cats. Should be fine with children and dogs. We want Kiara to go to a home experienced with Persians and/or Himalayans. They require daily grooming. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Fine with cats but happy as a single left alone DOGS: No dogs KIDS: No small kids KNOWN LIKES: Head scratches and Churu lickable treats KNOWN DISLIKES: Chaos, loud noises, handled too much ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: 🤎 Emily — A Graceful Senior Seeking Peace, Comfort, and a Soft Place to Land Meet Emily, a beautiful senior Himalayan mix whose life was suddenly turned upside down. When her beloved human passed away, Emily — along with many other cats — found herself without a home at a time when she should have been safe, settled, and cherished. To keep her out of the shelter, she came into foster care, where we’ve gotten to know this quiet, dignified girl. At 17 years old, Emily is an easygoing companion who asks for very little but gives gentle affection in return. She enjoys soft head scratches, cozy naps in sunny spots, and curling up in her covered cat bed where she feels secure. She’s perfectly content as a single cat in a calm home, but she’s also used to living with other cats and can coexist peacefully as long as they respect her space. Emily’s favorite indulgence? Churu lickable treats — she lights up for them every time. This sweet senior has weathered a lot of change, and she deserves a home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be loved for the rest of her golden years. If you can offer Emily a quiet, comforting home and a warm heart, she’s ready to share her gentle love with you. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities. BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note, unless otherwise stated, these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2762840##

Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: www.frecklesfoundation.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Jewel! This gorgeous 3-year-old Himalayan beauty is named for her stunning, sparkling eyes that are sure to steal your heart. Jewel may initially come across as a bit of a grumpy old lady, but beneath that serious expression is a cat who absolutely loves attention, pets, and being close to her people. Jewel adores being brushed, enjoys soaking up affection, and would happily spend her evenings curled up beside you. In fact, one of her favorite things is sleeping with her foster and keeping her favorite human company. While she tolerates other cats, Jewel can be easily intimidated by more outgoing felines and prefers companions who respect her space. She would thrive as an only cat or in a home with calm, respectful cats who won’t invade her personal bubble. Jewel does have food allergies, and her foster has worked diligently to find a diet that keeps her comfortable. After much trial and error, we’ve discovered that she does wonderfully on a homemade bison-based diet. When fed other foods, she becomes very itchy and can scratch herself raw, so her future family will need to be committed to maintaining her special diet. Jewel is spayed, vaccinated, negative for FelV/FIV, and microchipped. She’s ready to find a home where she can be cherished, pampered, brushed regularly, and loved for the beautiful, affectionate girl she truly is. The adoption fee for this cat is $500. Application for adoption: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FRE/Cat If you are viewing on Petfinder and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this kitten, please visit our website www.frecklesfoundation.org ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application which does not commit you in any way, but allows us to help you to find a great match. Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** Cats adopted through Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed unless already declawed at the time of rescue.

Story
Zosar is a gorgeous pure white Persian boy we are thrilled to have with us. We are not sure of his age, but he is around 3 years old. He was abandoned like trash on the street. But he is safe now. Zosar is so friendly and sweet. He loves human attention and gets along with other feline friends.. He enjoys brushing and plays well with toys. We would like to see Zosar adopted into a home experienced with caring for Persians and/or long haired cats. His fur needs to be maintained. Fostered in Fairfax, VA.

Story
Manny is a stunning medium to long hair male cat rescued off the mean streets. He is safe now. Manny has the most fluffy ruff that surrounds his face. Could be some Maine coon in him. Part Persian. Not sure. Manny has never met a human or cat he does not like. He craves attention. Can be a bit needy at first. Boy, can he play. He needs a large space with a lot of activity. He was in a small apartment for a month and the family realized he has to be able to run around and explore. Extremely active. Manny needs stimulation so another active cat is paramount. He will do great with kids and probably a dog. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Atlas was found on the street with little boys terrorizing him. Thank God a kind lady grabbed him and took him away. She was too afraid Atlas would go back to that area so she grabbed him and took him to safety. Atlas is a long haired white boy with stunning big yellow eyes. We think he is part Persian and maybe has some Turkish van in him due to his very silky fur. He has blossomed in his foster home once he felt safe. Loves to be petted and doted on. Gets along famously with other cats. We would like to see him in a home with Persian or long haired cat experience. These cats need regular brushing and care. Fostered in Fairfax, VA
