Story
Kona is a sweet, eager-hearted dog who's finally getting the opportunity he's always deserved. After spending his life living outdoors on a line, he's discovering the comforts of indoor living for the very first time - soft beds, warm rooms, gentle hands, and the feeling of truly belonging. Every day is a new adventure for him, and he greets it with curiosity and hope.Because Kona is still learning about the world and how to navigate it with confidence, he's looking for a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. We're still getting to know how he feels about other animals, so a home without young children or other pets would be the best fit while he continues to grow and learn. What Kona wants most is simple: love, stability, and someone who believes in him. He's incredibly motivated to learn and thrives with positive, AnimalKind training, where he shines. With the right support, Kona is ready to become the best dog he can possibly be.If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready to start fresh and build a beautiful life by your side, Kona may be the perfect match. He's waiting for the family who will show him what it means to be loved forever. Kona is still waiting for his neuter surgery, so will need a family that is able to bring him back for his scheduled date! Primary Color: Sable Secondary Color: Brindle Weight: 27.3 Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Chiquita weighs 55lbs, is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
Meet Aru   Name: Aru Age: 3 months Sex: Female Spayed: No (too young) Breed: Husky × Jindo mix Color: Black & White Weight: 4.9 kg Height: 30 cm (shoulder)   Rescue Story   Aru was born as one of six puppies to a Husky-mix mother who was living as a yard dog in Korea. She has now been safely moved into foster care, where she is receiving her vaccinations and getting ready for her forever home   With People   Aru is very affectionate and friendly. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubs against them, and enjoys being petted. She loves both men and women and is especially great with children under 13. She enjoys being picked up and carried, and often rolls over to show her belly when she’s playing.   With Other Dogs   Aru is very social and loves other dogs of all sizes. She eagerly approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play. Sometimes she can be a little too enthusiastic and doesn’t always realize when another dog needs space, especially with bigger dogs — she is currently living with a large dog and is so fearless that she sometimes gets corrected for being too bold. Overall, she loves dogs and plays well with them.   With Cats   She has not been officially tested with cats yet, but because she is playful and curious, she could do well with a cat who is comfortable with dogs.   Energy Level   Aru has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities, but after playtime or walks, she settles nicely and rests calmly.   Leash & Walking   She has just started leash training and is still learning. Right now, she tends to pull and go in the direction she wants, so she will need continued practice and guidance.   At Home   When Aru first arrived, she cried for about a week while adjusting to her new environment, but she is now settled and no longer cries. She may bark when she gets over-excited while playing with other dogs or when she doesn’t get what she wants right away.   She still whines a bit in her crate but eventually falls asleep. If she wakes up and wants to come out, she may cry again. When left alone, she usually just sleeps and can also entertain herself with toys.   She is currently doing both indoor pee-pad potty and outdoor potty training and has been left alone for up to 3–4 hours without issues.   What Makes Aru Special   Aru is a happy, playful, loving puppy who enjoys people, dogs, and life in general. She would do wonderfully in a home that can continue her training, give her regular outdoor time, and let her grow into the confident, joyful dog she’s meant to be Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Heukgom Heukgom is a gentle, sweet puppy with a soft heart and a thoughtful personality.   Basic Info • Age: 4 months • Sex: Male • Neutered: Not yet • Breed: Jindo Mix • Color: Black & White • Weight: 7.3 kg • Height: 38 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Heukgom was born to a Husky-mix mother who lived as an outdoor yard dog. He is from the same litter as Choco, Aru, Cream (already adopted), Baekseol, and Heukgom—all siblings born together.   ‍‍ People Socialization Heukgom is very affectionate and friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar people. He especially loves men and approaches people happily for pets and cuddles. He does wonderfully with children under 13 and is comfortable being gently held. Even with people he has just met, he often shows his belly and relaxes easily.   Dog Socialization Heukgom greets and tries to play with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. He is most comfortable with dogs his own size or smaller, while larger dogs can still feel intimidating for him—especially high-energy ones. When dogs are around without people, he may hide from larger dogs, but when a trusted person is nearby, he often gathers courage and tries again, sometimes hiding between legs for reassurance. He is a sensitive and thoughtful puppy who gains confidence with support.   Cats He has lived in the same home with a cat for about one month.   Energy Level Like most puppies, Heukgom enjoys energetic playtime and then settles down quickly when tired. He needs appropriate daily activity to help him rest well.   ‍ Walks Heukgom is still new to leash walks. He tends to pull toward directions he wants to explore and focuses more on sniffing than steady walking. Because walks are still unfamiliar, he may bark at passing sights—likely a mix of curiosity and nervousness. With experience and patience, this will improve.   Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Food-motivated and eager—still learning to wait politely • Whines briefly in a crate but settles down • Uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty • Not a fan of baths yet, but after brief resistance, he calms and tolerates them • Overall very gentle, mild-mannered personality   Heukgom would do best with a family that can offer patience, reassurance, and gentle guidance as he continues to grow in confidence. He is a truly sweet soul looking for a loving forever home Apply to adopt : https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Meet Baekseol Baekseol is a sweet, confident puppy with a loving heart and a playful spirit.   Basic Info • Age: 4 months • Sex: Male • Neutered: Not yet • Breed: Jindo Mix • Color: White • Weight: 6.7 kg • Height: 37 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Baekseol was born to a Husky-mix mother who lived as an outdoor yard dog. He is from the same litter as Choco, Aru, Cream (already adopted), Baekseol, and Heukgom—all siblings born together.   ‍‍ People Socialization Baekseol is extremely affectionate and friendly. He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, enjoys being petted, and even leans in for cuddles. He is comfortable with men and is wonderful with children under 13. He allows belly rubs easily and can be gently picked up, even by people he has just met.   Dog Socialization He is friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and loves to greet and play. Baekseol is not intimidated by large dogs and gets along well with them. While very high-energy dogs can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, he still manages well thanks to his confident and bold personality.   Cats Baekseol lived with a cat for one month and showed good compatibility.   Energy Level As a puppy, Baekseol loves to play and run around energetically. When he gets tired, he settles down and falls asleep quickly. That said, like all puppies, he needs enough daily activity and playtime to rest well.   ‍ Walks Baekseol gets very excited on walks—sometimes hopping around and moving in different directions. He tends to focus more on sniffing than walking straight, stopping often to explore scents. With time and consistency, this is expected to improve.   Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Food-motivated and eager—still learning patience around meals • Whines briefly when placed in a kennel but calms down quickly • Uses both indoor pee pads and goes potty outdoors   Baekseol is a loving, social, and adaptable puppy who will thrive in a home ready to guide him through puppyhood with patience, structure, and lots of affection Apply to adopt: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.
