Story
This dog is not in the direct care of Happy Tail Happy Homes, we are simply assisting with getting him adopted outside of the rescue. If you are interested in Kodi, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform Kodi is a 5–6-year-old male neutered Husky/Shepherd mix weighing approximately 48 lbs. He previously had mild separation anxiety, which is now well managed, and he has completed a few weeks of training and boarding. He currently sleeps comfortably in a crate and is generally an easy, well-mannered companion. Kodi is dog-selective and may be a bit selective or “snarky” with certain dogs, so he does best with appropriate introductions and compatible canine companions. Overall, he is a mature, low-maintenance dog with no known health issues, easy handling, and a friendly, companion-oriented temperament.

Story
If you’re looking for a partner who thinks the best place on Earth is glued to your side, then Tony is your guy! He’s a happy, cream colored adventurer who believes that life is a team sport, and he’s ready to be your MVP. Tony is the ultimate Velcro dog with a side of goofy, a serious passion for pets and snuggles. Whether you’re working at your desk, eating dinner, or just hanging out, Tony will gladly curl up right under your feet. He wants to be involved in every single thing you do especially if it involves a garden hose! Watering the plants becomes a hilarious game of splash and play when Tony is around. He is a loyal companion and will greet you at the door with his favorite toy in his mouth, ready to show you how much he missed his favorite person. You have to see this goofy boy in action check out his below to see his famous hose zoomies! https://youtu.be/achl-y6icUg While his true DNA is a mystery, we suspect Tony is a majestic Husky mix with a coat as soft as a cloud and a heart twice his size. Tipping the scales at a sturdy 63 lbs, he is the ultimate adventure sized sidekick. He’s solid enough to be your hiking partner, but compact enough that he won't hog the entire couch during movie night (though he’ll definitely try to negotiate for the middle cushion!). Tony is basically a professional co pilot in training; he loads up into the car with ease and is always sitting pretty and ready to hit the road for a pup cup or a park trip. As with all our rescue superstars, his breed is a best guess, but those soulful eyes and "toasted marshmallow" looks are 100% guaranteed! Tony has been absolutely thriving in his foster home, and let’s just say he’s the ultimate house guest! He’s a total gold star student when it comes to house rules; he is fully potty trained and hasn't had a single "oopsie" indoors he’s much too sophisticated for that! When it’s time for some quiet time, Tony is crate trained. He treats his kennel like his own private, cozy VIP lounge where he can catch up on his beauty sleep. He currently lives with a 30lb canine sibling and even some tiny human kiddos (yep, including a little one under a year old!), proving he’s a gentle, patient soul who is a friend to everyone. If we told you he graduated at the top of his class, you’d believe us this boy is one smart cookie! He’s a straight-A student with his manners and is already a master of "sit," "down," "stay," "place," "left," "right," "up," and "off." He even knows his "kennel" command by heart; he’s basically a genius in a fluffy fur coat! When it comes to other pups, Tony is a total gentleman! He’s a regular at doggy daycare and is perfectly happy to be part of the pack, though he’s not the type to get caught up in high-speed wrestling matches. He’s more of a social observer who enjoys the company of others without needing to be the center of the action. Whether he’s hanging out with his 30lb foster brother or wandering the yard at daycare, Tony is a peaceful, easygoing friend to all dogs. He’s a medium energy guy who has truly mastered the art of the chill. While he might engage in a little play here and there, he is more than content to just share a warm sunspot in the grass with a buddy. Because he’s so well adjusted and mellow, he’d be a fantastic addition to a household with other dogs, but he’s also perfectly happy being your one and only star of the show! Now, what about the feline variety? Tony hasn't told us his official opinion on cats just yet! We have a feeling Tony is more than willing to share his world of cuddles and sun soaking spots with a kitty friend! To make sure he’s ready to hand over a snuggle permit to a feline roommate, he’d love to have a cozy kitty sleepover with one of our rescue cats as a trial run! This way, we can ensure Tony is on his way to becoming the bestest of buds with a cat before the official move in day. Tony’s dream home includes endless ear scratches, a yard for epic water hose adventures, and a family who doesn't mind a very cuddly 63 lb shadow! Because Tony is an outdoor enthusiast who takes his yard duties very seriously, he is looking for a home with a fenced in yard rather than an apartment. He needs that private green space to ensure every single blade of grass is thoroughly sniffed and every warm sun spot is perfectly lounged upon! Once his very important yard work is done, he’ll be ready to head inside and resume his favorite job: being right by your side. Whether it’s supervised gardening or movie marathons, Tony just wants to be part of the team. And if you’re a fan of a morning serenade, you’re in luck; Tony loves to start the day with a gentle, happy "awoo" to let you know he’s ready for breakfast and some morning snuggles. He’d thrive with a family who wants a devoted partner for every adventure he’s the kind of boy who will greet you at the door with his absolute favorite toy held proudly in his mouth, wiggling with pure joy! He might take a couple of days to fully settle in and show you his peak goofy personality, but once he knows he’s home, you’ll have a devoted companion for life! Tony is the definition of a total package, pup who checks every single box you could ask for: he is fully potty trained, crate trained (it’s his favorite private VIP lounge!), and is incredibly gentle and patient with kids of all ages. In short, Tony is a brilliant, toy toting, water loving gentleman who is just waiting for the right family to give him all the snuggles he can handle. He’s the perfect blend of a trained scholar and a cuddly, happy go lucky best friend! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69d92e0e46ec1036ed088b94 Questions? Story
Picture this...it’s Saturday morning. You’re grabbing coffee, maybe heading to the park, maybe just running a few errands… and right by your side is Daphne Dos, happily along for the ride, riding shotgun like she owns the place, soaking in every moment with that big, happy smile. Fast forward a few hours, you’re home, shoes off, and there she is again. Splooted out on the cool kitchen floor or curled up on the couch, completely content just being near you. That’s Daphne Dos. She’s not just a dog you have… she’s a dog you do life with. Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/NP1moGvOHoI Daphne Dos is believed to be a Husky mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 50 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Daphne is the kind of dog people are hoping to find but don’t always come across. Fun, social, easy to live with, and just the right mix of adventure buddy and couch companion. She’s got that classic husky personality (yes, a little expressive, yes, a little “woo woo” commentary), but it comes in the most charming, entertaining way. She’s not over the top, she’s just enough to keep you laughing and remind you that life is better with a little personality in it. She’s affectionate too and in the best way. She’ll hop up for snuggles, lean in for love, give you kisses… and then go lay nearby and do her own thing. She’s not glued to you 24/7, but she’s always there. It’s that perfect balance of connection without being overwhelming. Her energy is where she really shines. She’s what we’d call a perfect “semi-active” dog. She’s ready when you are. Walks, outings, beach days, patios, tagging along for everyday life but she’s not demanding constant activity. About 75% of her day? She’s lounging like a pro. Couch, tile floor, window watching (she takes this job very seriously, by the way). She adapts to your pace, your plans, your life, making her such an easy, natural fit into a home. Out in the world, she’s a total natural. She’s been to the beach, Home Depot, busy social spots, and handles it all like it’s no big deal. She’s curious, social, people-friendly, and genuinely enjoys being included. She’s the dog you take places because she makes it more fun.. And she is SMART. Not just “knows a few things” smart, we’re talking puzzle-solving, treat-catching, quick-learning kind of smart. She already knows sit, lay, stay, shake, and will politely wait her turn like the well-mannered queen she is. She thrives on mental stimulation, so even on slower days, a puzzle toy or quick training session keeps her happy and fulfilled. She’s the kind of dog that makes you want to engage with her because it’s actually fun. In the house, Daphne is the dream. No chaos, no destruction, no “what did she get into now?” moments. She’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and can be trusted to hang out freely. She settles easily, and has this calm, easy presence that just makes your home feel… better. She’s the kind of dog you can actually relax with. Daphne’s foster considers her fully potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door! In fact, this smart girl even knows how to flip the cover off if she needs to go potty but definitely don’t rely on the cover to keep her inside LOL she’ll help herself. And let’s not forget the little things that make her so fun. Her goofy personality, her love for window watching (seriously, leave the blinds open), her occasional husky “opinions,” her athletic little jumps, her curiosity about water, and just the way she carries herself like she knows she’s a good dog… because she is. Daphne is dog friendly and has been around a variety of different dogs all with different personalities and temperaments. Daphne is socially savvy and knows how to read the room. She prefers respectful introductions (no one likes a stranger sprinting into their personal space, right?), but once that’s established, she does great. Daphne also attends doggy day day care regularly and she enjoys one-on-one play like chase and wrestling, especially with dogs she knows and for the most part, she is off doing her own thing at day care. Daphne is fostered with 2 other large dogs and they get along great with each other. She plays with her foster’s Boxer girl the most. When she does play, she can be a little mouthy in that classic husky play style, but it’s all in good fun and not over the top. She’s also been around small dogs and did beautifully. She clearly understands the difference between “tiny friend” and “squirrel situation” (because yes… squirrels are absolutely her sworn enemy on walks). In a home, she would do best with a mellow male dog that enjoys the company of other dogs, will give her a little time in the beginning to get to know them, enjoys more chase type play rather than physical wrestle type play, and wants a doggy friend like Daphne to explore with. She'll be perfect for that and something special! Daphne would also do best in a home with no cats as she was a little too interested in our house cat Biggie. She’s also been around kids (ages 7–13) and fits right in. Calm, affectionate, and happy to be part of the family without adding to the chaos. She’s more of a “hang out and be included” kind of girl, which makes her such a great fit for a home environment. Daphne’s perfect home? A semi-active family, couple, or person who wants a dog to be part of their everyday life. Not just a dog that stays home, but a dog that goes with you. Errands, walks, outings, adventures and then comes home and crashes with you like she’s been yours forever. Because that’s really what Daphne is. She’s not a “maybe she’ll be great someday” dog. She’s already great. She’s the kind of dog that makes you look at her and think, I need this dog in my life! So if you’ve been waiting for a dog that just fits into your life, your routine, your plans, Daphne Dos is ready. We are willing to test Daphne Dos with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Rory is one of those dogs who just blossoms when she knows she’s safe and loved. From the moment her foster got her home she knew she was going to going to get to see her in full bloom and she absolutely has. Although I spent a few hours with Rory, enjoyed her company and got to know her more, most all of what is shared here is from her devoted foster. With a front row seat she has the best view. Take a look at her beautiful view, get to know Rory a little more and then come back to read more. https://youtu.be/uApRznAenJU At home, Rory’s an absolute sweetheart. No accidents here! She’ll let you know when she needs to go out, usually by whining and giving you that classic “let me out, please!” look. She’s a big fan of toys and loves playing fetch, though she might not always bring it back to you, its kind of her way of taking a break. She’s definitely part couch potato too – or in her case chair potato. Her favorite place to curl up is on the armchair, where she goes from happily watching TV with you to full on snoring. You’ll still be able to hear the tv though, they are just quiet little snores. Rory is estimated to be 5 years old, weighs 57 lbs, and may be a husky/lab mix. Of course, she is a rescue so age and breed are not details we can guarantee. Rory’s foster praises her for being friendly with people and great with kids. She shared that her two- and three-year-old niece and nephew adored her, and she was always so gentle and patient with them. On top of a variety of dogs, Rory met a two-month-old puppy during a recent visit at a family friends house and had fun playing and was so sweet on him. She lives with dogs and has met all sorts of dogs, big, small, young to old. She can be a bit shy during on-leash greetings but is polite and if she is not feeling comfortable she will simply keep on walking. Rory is definitely more of a dog-companion than a dog-playmate with her best match being easy-going dogs that don’t feel the need to push or insist she play. She doesn’t mind gently letting them know in her own doggy way that she isn’t interested and then moves on. Rory has basic leash skills and continues to learn in new environments. She recently got to tag-along for a pet-store run and was very polite but a little unsure of walking next to the cart but settled in after just a few minutes. Clearly she is a smart cookie and picks things up quickly. Her foster has praised her crate manners, calling her a rock star! She is quiet and settles into sleep easily. She also knows basic commands including “sit”and “lay down.” She also learns quickly and takes correction well. We would love to see Rory in a home with a yard, adding a family with kids to that scene would be the true dream. Rory does not need another dog in the home, her people and a few toys will fill her bucket each and every day. The only no we would encourage is no cats. Her foster has cats and will attest to her attempts to get a good game of chase in when she first met them. They are kept separate now after one curious moment turned into a little too much excitement, so a cat-free home is best. Overall, Rory is a loving, fun, and smart pup who’s just waiting to be part of your family. She’s come so far in such a short time and is ready to keep learning and loving with you by her side. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy who’s as happy exploring the world as she is snuggling up for TV time, Rory’s your girl! Ready to make the first move? The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. Story
Dearie is a coyote-fox cutie with a demure but playful personality. She has a soft, little soul, and likes to take things slow, but always sweetly. Yes, she is shy at first, but she is also perfectly playful, deeply dog-friendly, and the kind of dog who already just knows her house manners and all about an inside voice and outside play. Dearie is currently 9 months old and weighs 34 lbs (with a little growing still to do), and her curious foster has had her DNA tested and we are happy to share the most delightfully random results: 25% Siberian Husky 12% Boston Terrier 8% Chow Chow 7% Great Pyrenees and 6% American Pitbull Terrier. Super fun and crazy, right?! Want to see Dearie’s sweet toy parade and gentle vibe in motion? Head to YouTube for “Dearie’s Toy Parade | Playful Babe” https://youtu.be/nTbCo5___wk In her foster home, Dearie lives with three wild heelers(their owners words) and that has single-handedly has given her an excellent sense of dog play, that she balances with plenty of self-entertaining toy time, always followed by a good rest. Her foster raves that she’s house-trained and crate-trained, with beautiful house manners and a loving-but-not-clingy personality. She’s affectionate in a respectful way, the type who says “hi, I adore you” and then happily goes to lounge some where nearby. Now, the toys! Dearie is a toy enthusiast in the most adorable way. Every toy is her favorite toy, and she may genuinely play with every single thing in the toy box in one day. Her foster laughs about her “toy parade”, she’ll carry something around proudly, invite a dog friend to join in, and if they’re not interested, she’ll simply take it to her bed like, “No worries, I’ll enjoy this over here..” It’s ridiculously cute. On leash, Dearie is a gem. She’s described as a wonderful walking partner who enjoys peaceful strolls and calm exploring more than bustling city treks. Inside the home, she also understands the difference between inside play and outside play, which is basically the kind of emotional intelligence we all aspire to. Wild games of chase are outside olay. Quiet little “wrestling” matches on a dog bed- perfectly okay inside. Dearie could potentially live with a calm cat, especially if she has a doggie buddy for her playful side. She was cautiously respectful when meeting our house cat, and we say “calm cat” only because a bold, bossy cat might intimidate her. She’s not looking for chaos, she’s looking for cozy. Dearie’s ideal home would be a quieter household with a simple rhythm, where she can settle in gently and feel secure. No busy, high-stimulation lifestyle needed, just the good basics- calm companionship, a generous toy-box, and a routine that includes play, walks, and cozy cuddles. And a little grace while she warms up. A home without young kids would be best, simply because the constant motion and noise of little ones could be overwhelming for her sensitive nature. A fenced in yard would suit her best. If you’re looking for a petite, dog-friendly girl with excellent manners, a toy-collecting hobby, and the kind of calm that truly makes a house feel peaceful… Dearie might be your perfect match. Story
Meet Darling Delilah, the ultimate gentle soul. This serene, sweet girl is the definition of peaceful companionship. She’s quiet, polite, and affectionate in the most heart-melting way. Delilah loves soft squeaky toys, sunbathing in the yard, and cozy mornings wrapped in blankets. She’s perfectly house-trained, delightfully low-maintenance, and has an old-soul calmness that makes every moment with her feel peaceful. Watch Delilah's video here to see what she's all about! https://youtu.be/c6RDfEGPsB0?si=FRzpErgKgC6DJp5N Delilah’s house manners are impeccable. She sleeps through the night either at the foot of the bed, on one of her dog beds, or on the couch in the living room. She patiently waits for her foster parents to wake and take her outside. She can be quite goofy, doing a joyful zoom back to the house after a good potty break, just to celebrate her success. Delilah’s ideal day includes a leisurely morning walk or yard time, a little toy time (especially anything that squeaks), and of course, snack time. When her foster parents leave, she is free to roam in the house, never destructive. Truly, she’s a dream dog for someone who appreciates calm companionship. She’s brave with all sorts of noises, like thunder, vacuums, trash trucks, and fireworks, and none of it fazes her. Delilah is also the perfect work-from-home buddy: quiet, content, and always close by if you need a little furry comfort during your day. She's the type that will come up to you when the time is right for a little ear or nose scratch, almost as if she knew you needed a five-minute break from work. As for the rest of the time, she's a window watcher and loves looking out windows or curling up with a good chew toy. Delilah can be a little shy at first, as new people and new places can make her a bit uncertain. With some time and gentle patience to help her realize she is safe and loved, she bonds deeply and adores her people with her whole heart. She’ll follow you from room to room, greet you like you’ve been gone for ages (even if it’s only been five minutes), and roll over for belly rubs. Delilah loves time with her teenage human fosters, and appreciates the sturdiness of older kids because she loves to lean her whole body in for affection, lay on a lap like a 5lb chihuahua, and occasionally roughhouse play. Delilah thrives in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, hiking adventures, and relaxed time in the yard. A family or individual who appreciates nature and is ready to explore trails or snowy landscapes would be a wonderful match. While she loves the great outdoors, she equally values her downtime indoors and settles in beautifully after activity. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard… a place where she can stretch her legs, roll in the grass, and soak up the sun. When it comes to other dogs, Delilah is currently living with quite the crew; from goofy puppies to large adult dogs and even a tiny Chihuahua. She prefers calm interactions and doesn’t enjoy rowdy play. She would do best with a submissive, easygoing dog that matches her cool, collected personality. That said, she would also be perfectly happy as your one and only pup, as her loyalty and devotion to her people run deep. A home without cats is a must, as Delilah shows far too much interest in them. If you have experience with Huskies, you know they thrive with structure, routine, and consistency. Delilah is an easygoing girl for the most part, but like most Huskies, she does best with daily mental stimulation and regular physical activity. A predictable schedule, clear boundaries, and some enrichment go a long way in keeping her happy and well-balanced. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
