Story
Meet Dodger! This outgoing guy loves to show off his ‘sit’ skills, especially if treats are involved. Dodger is bright, bold, and full of life. He loves to stay busy, but isn’t one to bounce of the walls. He just wants something to do- like hang out with his people! Dodger does well with most other dogs, but prefers females or dogs smaller than him, who like to play. The Red Bluff Rundown has sponsored his adoption fee! Story
Meet our sweet and gentle boy Skyler! He thrives on outdoor adventures, enjoying long walks where he can sniff the fresh air and explore his surroundings. He’s very attentive and has learned to communicate when he needs to go potty, using bells at the door or a gentle howl to let you know. Though he’s quiet by nature and doesn’t bark like a typical husky, he forms strong bonds quickly and is incredibly loving. He does experience separation anxiety, which can lead to occasional accidents when left alone, but he’s well-behaved when you’re home and enjoys spending time with you. He would greatly benefit from a yard where he can play and enjoy the outdoors. He’s kennel trained and loves to cuddle, whether on the couch or snuggled up in bed. His favorite treats include blueberries, strawberries, and bananas, and he enjoys high-protein dog food. He also loves special treats like puppuccinos! Playtime is a joy for him; he loves balls and tug-of-war. If you howl at him, he’ll happily howl back

Story
Meet Clyde! Clyde is an adult male Husky with a low to moderate energy level and a very sensitive soul. He comes to us as a transfer from another shelter, where he was originally brought in as a stray. Like many dogs who have had an uncertain start, Clyde is fearful and needs slow, gentle introductions to new people and other dogs. He is looking for a calm, patient home that understands he may take time to feel safe. Once he begins to trust, you can see the sweet, thoughtful dog underneath. Clyde benefits from steady routines, quiet environments, and adopters who are willing to let him move at his own pace. With time, kindness, and positive reinforcement, he has the potential to truly blossom. Clyde would do best with adopters who are committed to helping him build confidence and continue his social training. Watching a shy dog learn to trust is one of the most rewarding journeys you can take. Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Our pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, so please consider the 10+ year commitment. Schedule an appointment today! Call 530-895-8888. Elsie greets new people with warmth and charm, making her the perfect "patio dog" for your post-hike brews. 🏠 The Ideal Match Elsie isn’t just looking for a backyard; she’s looking for a lifestyle. Story
Meet Otis — a striking 5-year-old Siberian Husky/Malamute mix with a heart as big as his personality. With his beautiful black-and-white coat and mesmerizing heterochromia (two different colored eyes!), Otis turns heads everywhere he goes. But Otis is more than just a handsome face—he’s incredibly affectionate and loves spending time with his people. Whether it’s leaning in for pets, following you around, or simply soaking up your attention, Otis thrives on connection and companionship. Otis gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine friend, though proper introductions are always important. Due to his instincts and energy level, he is not recommended for a home with cats. Homes with small dogs may be considered, but they will require consistent supervision to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable. As with many northern breeds, Otis is likely to be intelligent, active, and full of personality. He’ll do best with an adopter who can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of love. Breed is a best guess and not guaranteed. Otis is ready to find his forever home—could it be with you? He is currently available for adoption at Butte Humane Society. All dogs that are adopted from Butte Humane Society come microchipped, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, placed on preventions for heartworm, and flea and tick-borne illnesses. Come down to Butte Humane Society and meet your next family member today!
