Story
Manny is a three-year-old Siberian Husky, weighing approximately 60 pounds. He arrived at the Santa Barbara County Animal Services – Lompoc Shelter in April 2025, with a likely history of neglect. Manny entered the shelter as a stray dog from Santa Maria, California, alongside his companion, Mya. The two shared a strong bond and enjoyed each other’s company. However, following Mya’s adoption, Manny has faced challenges in forming new friendships, resulting in a sense of loneliness and increased stress. To help develop a trusting relationship, we began taking Manny on day trips to our home and exposing him to a safe world outside the shelter • Fully trained on 8-figure leash • Gentle nature but anxious around new people; great with older people • With a proper introduction can do well with other dogs • Enjoys puzzles, extremely smart • Loves walks/jogs • Knows commands in Spanish & English • Great office buddy • Doesn't beg for food at the dinner table; but will provide companionship
