Story
Wreath is a playful husky with a big personality! He is an energetic and happy dog who is not shy about expressing his enthusiasm. Attention and pets are high on his priority list. Wreath is curious and playful, still figuring out the finer points of games like fetch but always eager to join in. His engagement and expressiveness make him a very entertaining companion. Like many dogs, the shelter environment has been a bit stressful for Wreath. He can show some anxiety, particularly when he is craving connection and reassurance. Fortunately, he scored a foster home and is enjoying his time away from the shelter living with other huskies. Wreath will do best with an adopter who appreciates an active, expressive dog and is ready to provide both engagement and stability. Since Wreath is in foster, please email us at adopt@yoloshelter.org to schedule a showing with him!February 17, 2026, 4:36 pm

Story
Margarine is a uniquely handsome Shepherd x Husky mix with striking eyes and an unforgettable smile. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was understandably anxious and unsure about life on leash. With patience and consistent handling from staff, he gradually built confidence and learned that walks were not something to fear. Now, he is great on leash and much more relaxed heading out and about. Margarine is still learning the basics and does not know formal commands yet, but he is very food-motivated which is a fantastic foundation for training. He is eager, curious, and ready to keep figuring out how the world works alongside his future person. He enjoys being around people and has a friendly, approachable nature. At this time, we have not observed Margarine with other dogs, small animals, or children. If you are looking for a dog you can truly build a bond with and help shape through training and shared experiences, Margarine has a lot of potential. Schedule an appointment to meet Margarine at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org February 17, 2026, 4:36 pm

Story
NOTE: AURORA IS AT A BOARDING KENNEL IN MODESTO AND WILL BE TAKEN TO THE STOCKTON SHELTER ON JAN 15 IF NOT ADOPTED BY THEN. GSRSV IS LISTING AURORA ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HER MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Aurora" is an approx 60-lb, 2-yo intact female Siberian Husky who is affectionate, playful & clever. n the short time I have known Aurora she has been very sweet and accepting of all people, including young children. Aurora likes to play with other dogs and is good around small dogs. Aurora does NOT do well with cats--she will chase them. Aurora did escape from the backyard once by chewing through her leash and scaling the fence. She is kennel trained. Aurora was found as a stray in Stockton in Nov 2025, yet she looked clean and was very well mannered--making me believe that a family had recently cared for her. Sadly, after two months no one has come to claim Aurora and dhe will need to go into the Stockton animal shelter on Jan 15th. It breaks my heart to send Aurora to the shelter but I cannot house her and I am presently paying to have her (and another dog) boarded at a kennel in Modesto. I have sought a foster home for Aurora without success. I fear she may not make it out of the shelter so am desperately trying to find her a home before Jan 15th. If she does go into the shelter I will continue to help her find a forever home. There is a $50 adoption fee for Aurora, which will include the cost of her spay (which is mandatory). Please contact Michelle Richmond at 760-576-6201 or richmichelle25@gmail.com.
