Story
NOTE: AURORA IS AT A BOARDING KENNEL IN MODESTO AND WILL BE TAKEN TO THE STOCKTON SHELTER ON JAN 15 IF NOT ADOPTED BY THEN. GSRSV IS LISTING AURORA ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HER MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Aurora" is an approx 60-lb, 2-yo intact female Siberian Husky who is affectionate, playful & clever. n the short time I have known Aurora she has been very sweet and accepting of all people, including young children. Aurora likes to play with other dogs and is good around small dogs. Aurora does NOT do well with cats--she will chase them. Aurora did escape from the backyard once by chewing through her leash and scaling the fence. She is kennel trained. Aurora was found as a stray in Stockton in Nov 2025, yet she looked clean and was very well mannered--making me believe that a family had recently cared for her. Sadly, after two months no one has come to claim Aurora and dhe will need to go into the Stockton animal shelter on Jan 15th. It breaks my heart to send Aurora to the shelter but I cannot house her and I am presently paying to have her (and another dog) boarded at a kennel in Modesto. I have sought a foster home for Aurora without success. I fear she may not make it out of the shelter so am desperately trying to find her a home before Jan 15th. If she does go into the shelter I will continue to help her find a forever home. There is a $50 adoption fee for Aurora, which will include the cost of her spay (which is mandatory). Please contact Michelle Richmond at 760-576-6201 or richmichelle25@gmail.com.

Story
NOTE: KODA IS WITH HIS PEOPLE IN FAIRFIELD, CA. GSRSV HAS NOT MET KODA. WE ARE LISTING KODA ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS ON THIS WEBSITE TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Koda" is a 4-yo 75-80 lb neutered male Siberian Husky who is loving, fairly chill and happy. Koda is healthy, up-to-date on core vaccinations, and microchipped. Koda is friendly with everyone he meets, both inside the house and beyond. He is great with young children, too. Koda is great with other dogs—in true Husky fashion. He lives with his 3-yo Husky/GSD brother Lupin who he gets along well with. Ideally, Koda would be adopted into a home with another playful dog, as he has exhibited separation anxiety in the past when left by himself. Koda has not been around small dogs. Koda has not been around cats. (Note: Huskies who have not been socialized with cats at an early age can be very predatory to them.) Koda is housetrained, but his person (Charlotte) does keep him and Lupin in a kennel when she is gone during the day as Koda has displayed separation anxiety (with some mischievous ) in the past. Koda sleeps on the floor in the bedroom at night. Koda pulls initially out of eagerness on leash when taken for walks, but settles down fairly quickly and then does not pull. He gets excited when seeing other dogs while on walks, but does not act aggressively and is easy to redirect. Koda enjoys traveling in a vehicle; he is generally excited for the first ten minutes or so but then settles down. He likes sticking his head out the window. Koda loves to fetch and play with “brain-challenging” toys. He likes to pull the fill out of stuffies. He loves crinkle toys and tennis balls. Charlotte is in the Air Force and took Koda in three years ago from another USAF family that was moving away and could not keep him. Now, Charlotte and her partner are facing the same dilemma, with an overseas deployment forthcoming. Further, they are gone for at least ten hours/day during which they have to keep Koda (and Lupin) in a kennel, which they know is far from an ideal situation for them. Thus, Charlotte is seeking a new home for Koda & Lupin, either separately or together. Koda is located on Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield. There is a $100 adoption fee for Koda. Please contact Charlotte Stary at 216-647-4915 or ctmstary@yahoo.com.

Glacier is a breathtaking white husky with striking heterochromia. One look into his eyes and you’ll know he’s something special. While he may be super shy with new people and unfamiliar situations, once he trusts you, his quiet, loving nature truly shines. Glacier enjoys the company of other dogs and does well in playgroups at the shelter. He’s not a fan of cats or kids, so he’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe and understood. One of Glacier’s favorite things? Day trips with his favorite volunteer! He absolutely loves car rides and will gladly accept a pup cup treat along the way. This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter.
