Story
Meet Dakota — Independent, Opinionated, and Already Overqualified for Husky Management Dakota is a 5-month-old husky puppy with big ears, big thoughts, and even bigger opinions. If independence were a sport, he’d already be training for nationals. On leash? Shockingly good. Like, “Wow, you’re walking nicely,” good. (For now. Let’s all enjoy this phase while it lasts.)Off-leash in the yard? Different story. Dakota had zero time for me, my feelings, or my attempts at engagement. He had Important Puppy Business to attend to, and I was simply… background scenery.Dakota comes fully loaded with classic husky features:- Vocal (he has things to say)- Selective hearing (extremely selective)- Confident independence (translation: not here to please you)This is not a starter puppy and definitely not for “any” person. Husky experience is highly suggested, along with patience, consistency, and the ability to laugh when your dog ignores you with purpose.Dakota isn’t difficult—he’s just very, very husky. If you understand the breed, appreciate the chaos, and are ready to embrace the attitude, Dakota is waiting at Flagler Humane Society for someone who speaks fluent husky. Weighs around 18 lbs currently

Story
I am a charming and loving senior boy who, unfortunately, ended up in the shelter after being found as a stray. But I should humbly mention that I am a very handsome gentleman and seem to be already house-trained! I have one blue eye and one brown eye, which is just one of my many unique qualities. I enjoy going for walks and playing in water! I am just a gentle giant looking for my forever home and loving family. I may be older, but I have a lot of love and affection to give. If you have some space in your home and heart for a loving, loyal companion with an overall calm and mellow temperament, I would love nothing more than to be your new adventure buddy and forever best friend!Weighs around 98 lbs - House-trained! - Sweet, affectionate boy.

Story
Meet Simba — Earn His Trust, Win His HeartSimba is an 11-month-old Chow Chow, which means two things are true at the same time:1. He is majestic.2. He has very clear opinions.Simba needs time to warm up and would do best in a home without kids, as he can get a bit jealous. He showed interest in other dogs, so...Who knows? Now, let’s talk about the moment I tried to brush him.We had just met.I thought, “Let’s try some bonding.”Simba thought, “How about not!”He wasn’t aggressive—just deeply, personally offended. Which is honestly very on brand for a Chow. With this breed, trust is earned, not rushed, and grooming, handling, and affection all work best once a relationship is established.Simba would thrive with someone experienced with Chow Chows (or similar breeds) who understands their specifics:- Independent thinkers- Loyal to their people- Not overly affectionate with strangers- Big fans of personal space and mutual respectHe’s not a plug-and-play dog—but for the right person, he could be an incredibly loyal, steady companion who bonds deeply once he knows you’re safe.Simba is waiting at Flagler Humane Society for a patient, breed-savvy person ready to earn the trust of a very dignified floof. If you like your dogs to be thoughtful, loyal, and just a little dramatic… Simba might be your guy. Weighs around 54 lbs - Would do best with no young children - House-trained!
