We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Axel is a 4-year-old gentle giant with a big heart and lots of energy. We rescued him from the streets 3 years ago after he was abandoned as a pup, and he’s been a loyal, loving companion ever since. Axel loves playtime, squeaky toys, and bones to chew, but he doesn’t care much for treats—his favorite reward is affection. He’s great with cats and most dogs, though he can be protective of female dogs he bonds with. Axel needs an active home where he’ll get plenty of attention and exercise. He has a sensitive stomach and skin, so a proper diet is important. He’s not crate-trained and prefers freedom, but he’s incredibly sweet and eager to please. Our circumstances have changed, and we can’t give him the time he deserves. Axel will thrive with someone who understands his quirks and can give him the love and care he needs.
