Story
Meet Blue! 💙If you're looking for a fun-loving, friendly companion, Blue may be your perfect match! This handsome 1-year-old Husky came to us as a stray, and while we don't know much about his past, we know he's ready for a bright future with a family of his own.Blue is everything people love about Huskies—smart, social, and full of personality—but what stands out most is just how sweet he is. He loves meeting new people and has been a joy to spend time with here at the shelter.Blue gets along well with other dogs and has done great around kids, making him a wonderful candidate for a family home. He's also a gentleman on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is always happy to be included in whatever adventure the day brings. At just a year old, Blue is still young and ready to learn, explore, and make memories with his forever family. Whether you're heading out for a walk, taking a road trip, or relaxing at home, Blue is ready to be right by your side. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
Meet Mae! 🤍🐾Mae is a 1-year-old Husky mix with a soft spirit and an even softer heart. This petite girl weighs only 28 pounds and is currently underweight, but she’s on her way to better days and is ready for a fresh start filled with care and kindness.Mae came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own, and it’s clear she’s had a rough start in life. Despite that, she remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and quietly resilient. She may be a little reserved at first, but she has a calm, peaceful nature that shines through once she feels safe. This lovely girl is dog friendly and seems to enjoy the comfort of other calm canine companions. She’s not a high-energy whirlwind—instead, Mae is quiet, easygoing, and happiest just being near her people in a calm environment where she can finally relax and feel secure.Mae is still learning what it means to feel safe and cared for, but she’s already showing that she wants to trust and bond with people who will be patient with her. With love, stability, and time, she is sure to blossom into a devoted companion. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
Meet Rhaenyra! This 5 year old Siberian husky queen was a public stray drop-off and we have no idea how she ended up out on the street! We think she was well loved and cared for one day, and then the very next was homeless and forgotten. Although we don`t know her story, she still has a lot of pages to fill and deserves a new life and a new home where she is safe and loved. Her previous owners never came for her, and she`s hoping that someone out there will rescue her and take her back to her throne. She is social with other dogs and people, and has a very expressive face that keeps the shelter staff smiling. Consider opening your home and heart to this sweet dog. M, T, TH, F, S 12pm-5pm

Story
Meet Whiskey Sour! Whiskey Sour is a 3-year-old mixed breed with a bold name and an even bigger personality. He’s a confident, charming guy who knows what he likes and isn’t afraid to show it. When it comes to other dogs, Whiskey Sour is a bit selective, he prefers to choose his friends carefully, just like you might pick the perfect cocktail. With proper introductions and the right match, he can do well, but he’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only. At three years old, he’s past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of playful energy and love to give. He’d thrive in a home that understands his preferences, offers structure, and gives him the time to settle in and build trust. And true to his name, Whiskey Sour is the perfect mix, he’s got a little bit of sass, a little bit of sweetness, and just enough zest to keep life interesting. If you’re looking for a dog with character, charm, and a personality that’s anything but boring, Whiskey Sour might be your perfect match. Come meet Whiskey Sour at Anderson County PAWS. We`re open 12-5 pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
