Story
Chloe is a really sweet dog . She’s great with cats and other dogs . Very patient and loves people. Only issue is she has a habit of killing chickens and other live stock animals . She was shot by our neighbor and has since become extremely nervous and restless . She does not enjoy being inside of our home but cannot be left outside as she wants to continue hurting chickens . I fear she will get killed and she’s too good of a dog for something like that to happen . I don’t have money to put her on medication for her anxiety nor to build a fence in my yard . We’ve tried a perimeter collar , but that scared her further .

Story
Meet Misa 🌷🐾Misa is a 7-year-old, 55-pound Husky with a gentle soul who came from a difficult past but is so ready for a peaceful, loving home. Despite everything she’s been through, she remains incredibly sweet, quietly soaking up every bit of kindness she’s given. She loves being outside and would make a wonderful outdoor dog, especially in cooler weather. It’s where she feels most at ease—resting, observing, and finally enjoying life at her own pace.Misa is dog-friendly and has that classic husky voice, softly “talking” when she has something to say. She’s affectionate, calm, and just wants to feel safe and cared for.Misa is heartworm positive and has already started treatment, which will be fully covered. She will need a foster-to-adopt home while she heals. She is also incontinent, so she’ll need a patient and understanding family to support her. After a hard start, Misa is simply looking for peace, comfort, and someone who will love her through this next chapter. In return, she’ll give you her whole, gentle heart. 💛Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home. We are located at:1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
