Story
If interested you MUST fill out an Adoption Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Location: Star, ID Breed: Husky Mix Age: 8 years old Adoption fee: $100 Spayed, Vaccinated, Microchipped Suki is a long-haired husky mix and there is no other way to describe her but gorgeous! She is an energetic and sweet girl. She loves long walks, car rides, and running around out in the yard. She knows basic commands and responds well to positive verbal and treat reinforcement. She adores people from children to adults and is very affectionate, loving, and gentle with everyone. She cannot be trusted off-leash because her drive to run is so strong – she will just keep going and not look back. She does walk well on a leash – but will pull a bit at the beginning until she realizes we will not be running. Like all Huskies, she is a notorious escape artist and will jump over fences under 6’ or dig under them. Suki has gotten out of the yard before and it took some time (and some treats) to get her back. She is not a dog that you can leave out in a yard unattended all day long. Another Husky trait that Suki will do is talk. She has perfect timing at practicing this skill while you are on the phone or during an online meeting – mainly because she wants your attention. She gets along with other dogs and even cats – as long as the cats belong in the household and the other dogs let her be the queen. She is also crate trained! Suki would be a good fit for a family with a large fenced-in yard for her to explore, or with an active owner that will take her for long walks or runs. If you are looking for a medium-energy girl with stunning beauty and a loving temperament, Suki is your girl.

Story
Am I the cutest, or what? My name is Thea and I’m a 2-year-old playful Husky mix. My likes are cuddling, hanging out with my people and playing with my friends! I’m very curious and love being outside. I know sit, stay, shake, lay down and I’m crate trained! Treats are my jam, so to speak and I LOVE toys. Give me a toy and I can entertain myself and you! Meeting new people makes me a little nervous so I prefer slow introductions. Once I know I can trust you, I can be a cuddle bug! Thea would love an active home who makes her part of the family and takes her on adventures. Being treat motivated, she’s eager to learn. She is playful and with slow introductions does well with dogs of similar size. Homes with children 5 or older are best.

Story
What a long strange trip it’s been. Have you heard those words before? My past is somewhat of a mystery at this point, but I guarantee things are really looking up. After living off the land for over a month, I was captured by some clever humans and taken to a place where I am safe and get meals brought to me in bed. How cool is that? I am a young boy, and have a very friendly disposition. My estimated age is 2 years old. I love to try and give you kisses, and promise I will thank you furever if you decide to take me home. I have received all my vet care, and am hopeful for a foster or adoptive home with secure containment. I am a husky, after all. At this point, Moonsong doesn’t know all the details of my personality, like how I get along with other dogs. And they are assuming I am not good with cats; it is unusual for a northern breed to be good with cats and small critters. When I was living all alone in the wilderness, my prey drive probably came in handy. Regarding children in the household, it is probably best to be 8 or older. Moonsong will update my bio as more information about me comes to light. In the meantime, please consider me as a new family member! I am sweet, sweet, SWEET!

Story
Hi there, my name is Star. I am a young husky mix, a little over 3 years old. I came into rescue because my family is moving and couldn’t take me with them. I was sad and confused at first, but a really nice fellow allowed me to move in with him and his other dog. We go on daily runs together, which I love to do! I don’t pull on-leash too hard, in fact my foster dad says I am a good runner! I am living with another female malamute, and we get along great. I like my crate, and of course I like to hang out and watch TV with my foster dad. He brags on me and says I am a good ‘first husky’ for anyone so inclined. It is unknown how I would be with cats, but chances are that is not a good idea. I have a tendency to see ducks, squirrels and want to ‘investigate’ so I do have some prey drive. I am hopeful my forever family will ask to meet me soon.

Story
G’day everyone! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rusty and that may have come about because of my beautiful red coat. Add on my piercing Icelandic blue eyes and you’ve got one handsome pup! Yes indeed, I’m a youngster with a fully charged battery ready to live my best life. I can be a little timid when I first meet you, but I warm up quickly. Right now I am learning the ropes in my foster home; everything is new and sometimes I get a little jumpy with new experiences and noises. My foster home has two other fosters and who knew how fun it could be playing with other dogs and going for walks. It has opened up a whole new world to me. Since coming into rescue, I have really come out of my shell and discovered that being a dog is a whole lotta fun! Now that I’m around other dogs and people I’m thinking that’s where it’s at folks. I’ve relaxed into my daily routine and truth of the matter, sleeping in the house has become number one on my list. I enjoy my daily walks and I’m learning not to pull on the leash as well as trying to resist going after those tempting squirrels. But, practice makes perfect and everyday I am learning how to slow down and smell the roses. My canine companions are teaching me a thing or two as well – they let me know when my play gets too enthusiastic. I’ve learned to just go take a time out and relax, or maybe throw my toy up in the air for a bit. I take cues from my foster siblings, so having another con?dent canine around would sure help me out. When it comes to the kiddos, I will do ?ne with older children who are respectful and allow for slow introductions. My foster family recently discovered that I love water! The fact is peeps, I’m a young husky and you know what that means. Yep, I will need an active home that is willing to keep me thoroughly exercised along with some mental stimulation thrown in. With consistency and patience, I will be on my way to being one fine husky pup.

Story
Hello everyone, my name is Tiva. I am a beautiful young lady, my estimated age is 9 months. I am so thankful for the kindness of people in my young life. I was rescued from a bad situation by a kind young couple, and they hoped to keep me. But unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be. So, some wonderful volunteers with Moonsong swooped in and helped me out! I am still learning about the big world, my foster dad is making sure I get plenty of walks daily and takes me to really fun places. So far, I don’t pay too much attention to other dogs, and I am friendly to people. But I have seen a few men I was distrustful of, so that tells you a little bit about my history. But I know not all men are mean, I love to cuddle with my foster dad and enjoy tummy rubs the most! Moonsong is still learning about my personality, but believe I would do well with another friendly and confident dog. It is unknown about my reaction to small dogs or cats. Better safe than sorry, as the old saying goes. Won’t you please consider me for a special place in your family!

We have owned Luna for 1 year. She is a quiet dog that loves being inside and taking walks. Story
Kona is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. I am moving to Arizona and have a busy schedule as it is. I do not have the time or effort to give her that she deserves. She is very high energy and will need to be worked with on obedience but has been getting better and can follow instructions as long as there are no distractions around. Also good on leash. Kona is an amazing dog that needs someone who will have time everyday to spend with her, if you are super busy, please do not adopt this dog. A family may be the best situation as she loves to play and is very gentle, kids would have a blast chasing her around and she loves to wrestle.

Meet Bono! Bono is a male, 2 year old, Siberian Husky blend. He is 48 pounds.Bono arrived at the shelter as a stray. This poor boy was covered in ticks and completely matted, so the finder of Bono shaved him. His coat will grow back! Bono is pretty shy of new people, so potential adopters should be prepared to give him time to warm up and adjust. He wants to be around people and be loved so badly, but he is just too nervous to be interacted with at the moment. Give him time to warm up, and he's likely to be a fun and goofy boy! He can't wait to go home!Bono will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Story
Hey all! Kenai here snooping around to find a fur-ever home I can call my own. Just in case you didn’t know, Kenai means ‘black bear’ to Native Americans. Don’t take that wrong…if anything I would love to be a cuddle bear to my new hoo-mans! I am a young pup, just a little over 2 years old. I came to Moonsong because my mom couldn’t take care of me anymore and wanted to find just the right home for me. She figured Moonsong would have the best chance of getting that accomplished. I know a lots of the basic commands and do pretty well on a leash. I love walks but my prey drive really kicks in if I see other critters in my area. It is my personal belief that all smaller animals were put on this earth for my amusement. Therefore, they must be chased! I am a very strong boy and it takes a stronger hoo-man to control me when I want to go after one. I have lived with smaller children but because I am a big boy, kids under 8 probably aren’t a good idea. I would be very sad if I knocked one down and they got hurt. I’ve been around other dogs and think I would like playing but the smaller they are, the more I think I might like chasing them. The same goes for cats. I’ve seen them…been around them…but why take chances! Even with the dogs my size, slow introductions are always the best. On second thought, I might really like being an only ‘child’! From Moonsong: Kenai is neutered, will be UTD on vaccinations and is microchipped. Kenai’s foster dad says that he is a very friendly dog and loves to shadow him. He loves people and the attention he gets from them. He prefers to be with his hoo-mans and can be a bit vocal when alone but even then, he is pretty quiet about that.

Story
Bear is a man's best friend & an old soul. He will follow any guy around wagging his tail with his big, goofy smile. He loves vehicles. I have never seen a dog so fascinated with them, his foster mom says. He loves riding in them and just hanging out while you work on a leak, or whatever it is you men do. He even put his paws up on the rubber to see what was going on up above. While Bear had the cone on after his neuter he put his head full force against my dad's car with no room for budging the door open. All he wanted was to go on a ride. He's a man looking for an adventure or a country boy that loves to roam around the country side and ride next to you in your heavy Chevy. Age: 4 years old per mid-April, 2023. Weight: 82lbs of love. Energy level: Low/medium. Potty trained: Yes. Leash: He likes to pull at first from excitement, it takes a few nudges to get him walking with a slack leash but he will. Kids: Yes. Toys: He loves bones, Kongs, seemed interested in chasing a ball. Likes to think he can catch birds. Cats: No. Livestock: Unsure- possibly likes to herd/chase. Dogs: No unfixed males. Females and fixed males- OK. Favorite pose: lifting his paw for you to hold. Breed: Unknown. Could have German shepherd, Labrador retriever, Chow and more - or none of those.
