💔 June Bug’s life almost ended because she wanted love. 💔June Bug is a 3-year-old Husky mix, spayed female, and she has already been abandoned more than once. She was adopted, put outside, and left to figure life out on her own. Confused and desperate, she kept escaping… searching for someone who would keep her safe.She wandered into another town before finally being picked up. Thankfully, she was microchipped and made her way back to the humane society where she had been previously adopted. Now June Bug is safe — but her heart is still waiting.She is so smart, gentle, and full of love to give. She doesn’t seem to mind cats and just needs quiet, slow introductions when meeting new dogs. What she really needs is a family who won’t give up on her again.June Bug didn’t run away because she was bad.She ran because she wanted a home.Please help us give this girl the happy ending she has been trying so hard to find.Her forever family is out there… she just needs them to see her. 🐾💔➡️❤️To adopt one of our animals please fill out an application here: https://form.jotform.com/243198707777170You can also stop by the Rescue Center during normal business hours - Tuesday thru Saturday from 10a-3pm

Hazel came to DCHS very pregnant and ready for a fresh start. Since arriving, she has proven to be an incredible mother to her eight beautiful puppies. She is gentle, attentive, and devoted, giving her babies the very best start in life. Beyond being a wonderful mom, Hazel is an exceptional companion. In her foster home, she does great with other dogs and even cats. She has a calm, loving personality and transitions beautifully into a home routine. She is house-trained and clearly communicates when she would like to go outside(waiting by the door and with a paw tap), making her an easy and respectful member of the household. Hazel will need a few more weeks (as of 2/13) to finish raising her puppies, but she is available for pre-adoption now. DCHS will coordinate her send-home date once her puppies are ready to be weaned and she has completed her mama duties. After dedicating herself so completely to her puppies, Hazel deserves a home where she can be the one receiving all the love and attention. If you are looking for a loyal, gentle, and family-ready dog with a heart of gold, Hazel is ready to meet you.

Meet Trudy, a 7-month-old Husky mix who came to us from a hoarding case along with some of her siblings. Trudy is still settling in and getting used to her new surroundings, so we’re just beginning to learn all about her personality. What we do know so far is that Trudy is a sweet girl with a gentle spirit who is ready to start her next chapter in a loving forever home. With patience, kindness, and time, she’s sure to blossom into a wonderful companion. As we get to know Trudy better, we’ll be sure to share updates—but for now, she’s hoping her perfect family is out there waiting for her.
