Story
I got Kitty when she was a year old. Her previous home didn’t have time for her and didn’t train her. She’s not house broken at all. We’ve been working on it. She’s funny and full of personality. She needs wide open space to run and burn her energy.

Story
Stryker was adopted from our shelter as a 10 week old puppy and brought back recently. He is in poor shape, very thin, very poor coat condition and appear to have been eaten up by biting flies. He weighs just 36 pounds but should weigh closer to 50 pounds. He is very sweet but will need someone to help him with training as he doesn't know any commands and is not housetrained. He is just over a year old. He is neutered, up to date on shots, treated for fleas/ticks and intestinal parasites and is microchipped. Adoption fee is $100. If interested, apply at www.humanesocietyofmartincounty.org. Our shelter does adoptions by appointment only. An adoption application is required first.

Story
Snow White is a female husky, 3+ years old.She knows commands - sit, shake, lay down. She was very unsure of humans when she came to us and we are not sure what happened to her in her past. She is doing so much better now. She will need an adopter who is willing to continue to work with her. She weighs around 45 pounds. She would need to be tested with any potential canine siblings. She is best suited in a home without children. She is spayed, up to date on shots, tested negative for heartworms, Lyme disease, e.canis and anaplasmosis and is microchipped. Adoption fee is $100. Story
Slate was born on 6/25/2023 and is a Siberian Husky. He is current on immunizations, heartworm, and flea control. He will go into his crate well, especially for bed time. He needs to be crated when alone, or at night for bed time. I use positive training methods with him, and he is treat motivated. He is a little shy with new people until he gets to know you. He walks best with a harness, although he does wear a collar. The harness is less traumatic to build his confidence. It would be beneficial for him to have another canine friend. He has been easy to correct, and enjoys belly rubs. He has done well with my 8yr. old female siberian. I do not recommend a home with cats, small animals, or young children. I do prefer that any potential owner have knowledge/experience with the breed. He is not neutered yet, but that is on the agenda. Slate sleeps out of his crate now. He lays his head on me, or touches my face to wake me up to be let out.

Story
Kyle is a special guy and our longest term canine resident. Every so often, we get a dog that just doesn't quite conform to the typical canine ways. Perhaps they would prefer to be cats, or don't really know how to speak dog. Maybe they are introverts and wish they weren't expected to be quite so social all the time. Whatever the case may be, Kyle is one of those pooches. He can be somewhat feline in the way he behaves; he would like to be petted on his terms, and he would like to do his own thing in the yard, and he has his favorites when it comes to people. However, Kyle also has many wonderful qualities. He is incredibly affectionate with his people, wanting to give kisses and sit in their laps. He makes some very funny noises, often sounding like the grouchy old man he is on the inside. He is housetrained and always potties right away when he goes outside. He is quite smart and quick to offer a paw in exchange for a treat. Except...it better be the kind he likes, or he'll spit it out. He is doing his best to learn about How to Be a Dog and is currently in a foster home with another male dog. He's not terribly playful, though he'll trot around now and then or paw to say hello. Kyle would be best in a home without cats or children. If interested in Kyle, please email our Outreach and Behavior Coordinator Emily Herr at herre@bloomington.in.gov
