Story
HI, my name is Mickey. I am an energetic dog ready to be your buddy. I am a big beautiful boy looking for just the right home for my needs. I am currently working on training with my friends at the shelter and would love to find an owner that is willing to continue working with me. Mickey would be most successful in a home without other animals and only adults. We would love to discuss more about Mickey with you and whether or not he is a fit for your family. Please call today to find out more about our big boys specific needs to see if he is a match for you and then we can schedule a visit. At this time, we are scheduling meets with Mickey by appointment only. Mickey is two years old and weighs 79 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in setting up a meet and greet, please complete an application on our website or call the shelter.www.helpingstrays.org

Story
Meet Nala! Nala was a breeder release and is a bit shy. She is very sweet and docile but will take a little time and patience to build her confidence and become socialized. Come meet this beauty and help her build confidence. She is ready to have her very own family. Nala is one year old. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in setting up a meet and greet, please stop by during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended, but not necessary. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it to meet your new family member.helpingstrays.orgNala has heartworms and will be starting treatment soon. She would greatly benefit from having a calm home to recuperate in rather than trying to rest in a noisy and stressful shelter environment. If you would like to provide a foster home during Nala's heartworm treatment, Helping Strays will provide everything you need; the medical care, crate, food, etc. Nala is also available to adopt and Helping Strays will pay and perform the heartworm treatment.

Story
This pretty girl is Jada.  She is guessed to be a 2 year old shepherd/husky mix.   She is smart, affectionate, high energy and vocal.  She would do best with a fenced yard or another playmate.  She loves to run, play and roughhouse with the other young dogs in her foster home.  She appears to be house broke and goes into her crate easily.  She could use some training and has some puppy behavior still but is very trainable as she seems to learn quickly.  She will make a great dog for a family but is probably too high energy for toddlers and younger.    If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Jada’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
