Story
Posh had a hard start to life. She is currently in foster and doing well. She kennels when the foster is gone and is working on her housetraining. Posh is also doing great with the kids in the house. Posh does have heartworms so a calmer house would be good for her to go thru the treatment. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
Neo is currently enrolled in the 12 week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of corrections.  He will graduate around November 22 and will be available for adoption at that time.  If you are interested in adopting Neo, please complete an application and the foster parent will contact you. Neo is a beautiful 1 1/2 year old husky.  He is housebroken, crate trained and good with other dogs.  We are not sure about cats.  He loves his people and wants to be with them.  We are told he’s good with children but would likely be too much for toddlers.  He needs a fenced in yard but can climb a chain link but only seems to do it when trying to get to his people.  You would not be able to leave him outside without being able to come in and check on you.    He has a doggie door situation at his foster him where he can do this.  He would do best in a home where he has a high energy playmate or where someone can run or exercise him.  He can be dominate so tends to pick on the older and more submissive dogs in his foster home.  He’s affectionate and a good boy that needs the right home and someone who is familiar with huskies or have done their research on the breed.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Neo's adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
This pretty girl is Rena.  She is guessed to be a 3-4 year old husky.  She was a stray who no one came to claim.  She has been in her foster home for a short time but so far she is low maintenance.  She is rather chill for a husky and likes to try to hang with her foster mom.  She may have previously been an outside dog as she has had a few accidents in her foster home but they have declined as time goes on.  She gets along well with the male husky in her foster home but doesn’t seem to care for the foster female year-old labradoodle or the 10 month old Aussie.  Would not recommend her to a home with small dogs.   Unsure how she is with cats.  Unsure how she would be with children but suspect she would enjoy respectful children older than toddlers. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
