Story
Tala is a shy, sweet girl who forms strong bonds with her trusted people. She enjoys playgroups and has opened up beautifully with other dogs. Tala is housebroken, affectionate, and has a healthy energy level for walks and play. Because she can be quite nervous with new people and children, she will need slow introductions and a patient adopter committed to helping her confidence grow. With time, Tala’s loving personality truly shines.Tala is four years old and weighs 62 pounds. She enjoys playing with a Kong rubber toy and knows the commands sit, up, and down. She has lived with older children and does best with children over 12.The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
**Courtesy Post** Ramona is about 8-10 years old Weighs 37lbs Husky mix  Fully vetted and hw-   Ramona was severely abused in her past and was emaciated when she came to me. She flinches when you move too fast and is always ready to be hit. She's gotten much better and doesn't jump every time she's touched anymore but we're still working on making her feel more comfortable.    She's the sweetest gal without an aggressive bone in her body. She tries to engage in play but she has 2 severely luxated patella's so she isn't incredibly stable. She takes gabapentin for her knees and that seems to make her feel a whole lot better! She likes other dogs but doesn't like them being rowdy in her face and who could blame her! The most she'll do is bark and walk away. She's learning to enjoy walks bones toys and a comfy place to sleep!    She struggled with digestive issues but after a round of steroids she seems to be doing 100% better! She takes probiotics and one serving of Metamucil per day plus she gets a tablespoons of pumpkin with both meals.    This girl is unbelievably sweet and deserves a calm home where she can continue her progress of being a dog.   To adopt Ramona please send an email to Nickiroy37@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 19, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Draco is a handsome 3-year-old Husky mix with striking blue eyes and a goofy personality that always keeps his family smiling. He’s fully potty trained, well-mannered in the house, and can be trusted whether kenneled or left out. With medium energy, Draco doesn’t need long walks due to an old leg injury of being shot. But he still enjoys playtime and being part of the fun. He’s wonderful with kids and other dogs, and he bonds strongly with his people. Draco would do best in a quieter home without lots of visitors. He can be protective of his home at first with new people. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Draco’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾 Meet Huck – Your Missing Puzzle Piece 🐾 Age: 3 years Weight: 43 lbs Breed blend: Alaskan Klee Kai (compact Husky-type charm!) Huck isn’t just a dog — he’s a ray of sunshine with four paws and a tail. With his playful spirit, gentle nature, happy disposition and love for people and animals, he’s always in good spirits and ready for life’s next adventure. He’s currently living it up with his “siblings” and even the resident cats — and yes, he leaves the kitties in peace. Huck enjoys running, playing with other pups, and being right in the mix of family life. 💡 Fun fact: Huck’s smaller size and striking looks resemble the Alaskan Klee Kai, a breed known for being curious, intelligent, agile, and active — all traits Huck embodies! Huck’s Favorites: 🦴 Toy: His beloved dog bone — though he’s happy to chew on any safe treasure he finds outside. 🤲 Rub spots: Top of his head and belly. 🎭 Cute quirks: Occasionally howls like Snoopy, cocks his head and lifts one paw when curious, and will lean his whole body against you just to soak up as much love as possible. What Huck brings to the table: - Gentle, affectionate temperament - Fabulous with kids, dogs, and even cats - House-trained and knows some basic commands - Loves learning new words (he knows a lot of “human talk” already!) - Active and adventurous — perfect for an outdoorsy family Ideal Home: A fenced yard, other pets or kids to play with, and an active household where he can be part of the action. Huck would thrive with daily exercise and outdoor adventures, whether you’re in town with a yard, out in the country, or somewhere in between. Huck is that last jigsaw piece — the one that will complete your life’s puzzle. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, a BFF, and a constant presence to share all your “going ons,” Huck would love to fill that spot. Ready to complete your puzzle? Apply for Huck today at haydudeequine.org and let the fun filled days begin!!
