Story
Hank is everything people love about Huskies wrapped up in one incredibly handsome package. With his striking black-and-white coat, fluffy fur, and bright personality, he turns heads wherever he goes. But Hank is more than just a pretty face—he’s a fantastic dog with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life.Hank loves making friends and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He does great with kids and is even eager to make friends with cats, often trying to convince them to join in on the fun. He’s social, playful, and happiest when he has company. As you might expect from a Husky, Hank is an active boy who will thrive with a family that can keep up with his energy level. He loves to be involved, explore, play, and spend time outdoors. Whether it’s long walks, hikes, play sessions, or adventures, Hank is ready to be your enthusiastic partner.Hank was known to be a bit of an escape artist in his previous home, but we’ve noticed something important during his time with us: he doesn’t seem interested in wandering off when he has his people nearby. Here at the shelter, he stays in the yard and is content to hang out, as long as someone is outside with him. More than anything, Hank simply wants companionship and interaction. If you`re looking for a beautiful, friendly, active dog who wants to be part of everything you do, Hank may be your perfect match. He’s ready to find a home that will give him the exercise, engagement, and companionship he craves. Our dog adoption fee is $150 and includes their spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. You can find our adoption questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1 or stop in to meet all of our adoptable pets Tuesday–Saturday from 1pm–4pm. No appointment required! Please check our Facebook page before visiting to make sure we do not have any unexpected closures.

Story
Boots is a male Husky mixed doggy who is about 1 year old.He is afraid of loud noises/thunder and doesn't particularly like to be crated. But he is very sweet, loves to be around you, does well with strangers and will bark to let you know that he wants something.Boots would do best with no cats since he gets very fixated on them. He knows sit and stay and is working on down. He is also potty trained. He is described as a 'Busy Bee'. I’m a naturally playful, curious, and trusting canine. Take me for a big walk every day; give me something to do. After my job’s done, I’ll curl up in front of the fire with you in the evenings. (Externally motivated). It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only  $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. We recommend crate training until you’re confident that your dog is used to his/her new home. For more information visit: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-behavior/weekend-crate-training.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption. For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome via our website Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Or mail to:PAWS and More Animal Shelter 1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To sponsor an animal, emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 Get directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comTo foster an animal (any length of time), complete the questionnaire atpawsandmorewashington.org/foster
