He learned how nice it is to have a cozy place to rest, people to love, and a routine all his own. Now he's back with us, through no fault of his own, and while he's taking it all in stride, we know he's dreaming of the day he finds a family that's forever. This handsome boy is smart, curious, and full of joyful energy. He'll thrive with an active family that enjoys walks, hikes, playtime, and making memories together. At the end of the day, all Boots really wants is someone to share life's adventures with. His adoption fee has been waived, so all that's missing is the right person to say, "You're home."Could that be you? Story
Buck is a German Shepherd and Husky mixed doggy who is about 3 years old.Poor guy was surrendered after his family lost their home.Despite the big changes in his life, Buck’s sweet nature is beginning to shine through. When Buck first arrived, he was very scared and shut down, taking time to adjust to his new surroundings. Recently, he’s started coming out of his shell and showing his true personality — a gentle, free-spirited boy who just wants love and stability.According to his previous owner, Buck does well with cats, dogs, and kids, making him a wonderful candidate for many types of homes. He has a calm, kind demeanor and is learning that people can still be trusted. Buck would thrive with a patient family willing to give him time to continue building confidence. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality really starts to bloom. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a soft heart and adventurous spirit, Buck may be the perfect match for you. He is described as a 'Free Spirit'. Intelligent, independent, confident and clever, I prefer making my own decisions but will listen to you if you make a good case. We’re partners in this adventure. Treat me like one and we’ll both live happily ever after. (Internally motivated). It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. We recommend crate training until you’re confident that your dog is used to his/her new home. For more information visit: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-behavior/weekend-crate-training.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption. For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome via our website Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Or mail to:PAWS and More Animal Shelter 1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To sponsor an animal, emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 Get directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comTo foster an animal (any length of time), complete the questionnaire atpawsandmorewashington.org/foster

Story
Rudy`s story started on a cold December day when a kind-hearted woman found him wandering the streets of Fairfield. Knowing it was no weather for a dog to be on his own, she brought him home to keep him safe for a few days before bringing him to us when she realized she couldn`t keep him.Rudy is a handsome Husky mix with all the charm—and vocals—you`d expect! He absolutely loves to sing the song of his people and will happily `woo-woo` until the cows come home. If you`re a fan of Husky conversations, Rudy is always ready to join in.This friendly guy loves other dogs, enjoys going for car rides, and is always excited to be part of the adventure. Whether you`re heading out on a road trip or just running errands, Rudy is happy to ride shotgun.Rudy is looking for a family who will appreciate his playful personality, his joyful spirit, and his signature Husky serenades. In return, he`ll be a loyal, loving companion who will fill your home with laughter, conversation, and unconditional love.

Story
Fish was surrendered to us in may of this year. He was surrendered for being too playful with the older doing in the home. Fish has been going out with many volunteers and they all adore him. He is very playful, but still has a calm energy about him. He is roughly a year old and with some training and re-direction, he is bound to be your best friend!
