Story
Prince is such a sweet and cuddly, handsome boy. There's nothing better than a pup who loves snuggles! And it's even more delightful to know that he enjoys playing with other dogs. That means double the fun and companionship! 🐾🐕 While Prince may not be fond of cats, it's important to consider his compatibility with kids, as that information is unknown. It's always a good idea to introduce dogs to kids in a controlled and supervised environment to ensure a positive interaction for everyone involved. 🧒👧🐶 The fact that Prince is crate trained and leash trained is fantastic! It shows that he's already got some great manners and is ready to be a well-behaved member of the family. Plus, his sweet nature makes him even more lovable. 🏠🐾 If you're looking for a beautiful, playful, and cuddly companion, Prince could be the perfect addition to your home. Get ready for a loyal and affectionate friend who will bring joy and happiness to your life every day! 🏡❤️🐾

Story
Jackson is a little ball of energy. So loving and craves attention and physical touch. He is crate and house trained but he will need instruction on house training in a new environment. He is dog friendly and big kid friendly, cats and little kids unknown. Will need a tall fence, mine is 6ft and he can dang near clear it. Very springy. Would love to have a fellow fur brother of his size but he does well with bigger dogs and is gentle with smaller dogs. He will need to be watched with other dogs at first, and it is not because he gets aggressive, he is just so up in your face and spastic that it could cause a reaction from the other dog, and he will react back but not until other dog has. He doesn’t understand personal space, at all. Loves curling up with his human on the couch or bed. He so desperately wants to be included and will mimic the other dogs in the house when it comes to how he loves on you and wants love from you. Very smart. Catches on very quick and easily redirected. Loves food!!!!!!! He is fed alone in his kennel to prevent any spats, I am not sure if he would try to get the other dog’s food (I feed all mine but my 2 littles in their crates) but seeing how he is with other things, I would not put it past him. I feel Jackson would do best with lots of room to run and play such as a farm or a very active family. This boy would love to be included in family activities that help him run and play his energy out. After breakfast and before bed he is given a couple treats after he puts himself up in his crate, the treat is his signal its time to go to his room. I work full time so currently he is crated throughout the day with a break at lunch time. He is fed at 7am and 7pm and usually put up for bed by 1045 pm. Jackson thinks he’s a cat, he loves walking along the back of my sectional and choosing a spot to take a nap on. Loves nylabones and other chew toys. Doesn’t seem to chew on furniture but he may snag a shoe if it is left out. He is definitely not a loner and does not do well by himself, whether it is outside or inside. He just wants to have his very own family, this sweet boy will NOT disappoint.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.8/13 Update! George has responded very well to his training and is now one of the most educated dogs here at Safe Haven! He looks forward to weekly field trips with a dog buddy to a volnteer's fenced acreage--where he loves to run and explore, but is good about checking in with his humans and responding to recall. He is a stellar car passenger and enjoys dog puzzles and pool time. This guy's brain is fascinatingly sharp! Meet George! George came to us as a stray found in Williamsburg, and was never reclaimed.  He is a very loving boy - who also enjoys to talk!  Since George was a stray, we don't have any information on his past, so we are not sure if he was an inside dog - he may have lived his life outside up until now! With a consistent routine, we are sure George will learn very quickly how great life with his new family is as a loved family pet. He enjoys being outside exploring, and has had a few dog friends at Safe Haven that have a similiar active, confident playstyle. If George does not get enough attention, playtime and excercise he has shown some troubling behaviors that including jumping on and even nipping/scratching our volunteers when he gets over excited.  This behavior is sporadic, but can be concerning if not corrected properly, so we have been working with a certified trainer to help us help George be the awesome dog we know he can be.  We have learned that George needs a confident, experienced owner, and will thrive if he receives playtime with a proper dog friend, and lots of 1:1 time and enrichment activities. We have also learned that George thoroughly enjoys and mentally thrives off of having a large fenced-in yard, so having a fenced-in yard is strongly encouraged. Not only does he enjoy being able to safely run off his energy, but a fenced-in yard also allows him the space & room that he desires. If that may be you - please contact us about this gorgeous boy!  Please complete an online adoption application for George if you are interested in meeting him. Once the application is submitted, a volunteer will be in contact to set up a meet & greet time. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2023, 4:48 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I am an energetic working boy who is looking for a home to call my own! I am around 6 years old and know all of my basic commands including, sit, lay down, and off. I would love to find a family with another dog and a fenced in yard. Please no children because I am still working on my manners, including how to greet young people and strangers appropriately. I am looking for an experienced dog owner, someone who is a strong handler and is looking for a lifelong companion that is smart and will be their #1 sidekick. I cannot wait to find my forever home!   Broly's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives PLUS an obedience course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a home visit and a vet check.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2023, 8:28 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bleu is a very handsome Siberian Husky mix, he is fully house trained and has not had a single accident in his foster home. He knows several commands and is very obedient, he is also kennel trained although he does not necessarily require one. Blue loves to be near his people, and the perfect home would be one with someone he could hang out with all day, or go to work with. He'll just nap the hours away at your feet! Bleu's up for adventure, but is also cool with just chilling at home with you. A fenced yard is preferred for his husky curiosity, as good smells can carry him away! Bleu is great with other dogs, but we are not sure about how he is with young children as he has never met them. For this reason, we are asking for a home with older children or no children please. Bleu's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, plus a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives for consideration. Please submit an adoption application at Adopthope.org if you’d like to meet Bleu!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2023, 8:28 pm
