Story
Introduct Leela and Carrie!  They are a mother and daughter team and need to stay together.  This is Leela, she is 5 years old, born in 2020.  Carrie is about 1.5 years, born in 2023.  Both are house trained and leash trained.  They enjoy being active and would love to be with someone who will take them on regular walks.  They would also love to have a fenced yard with room to play or lounge. Leela and Carrie are friendly girls.  They get along wtih other dogs, strangers and kids of all ages.  These sweeties really need a new place ASAP due to no fault of their own! The suggested adoption donation for both Leela and Carrie is $550, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2558375##

Story
Meet Shadow — The Playful, Loyal, AdventureReady Husky Looking for His Forever Yard & Forever Human Shadow is a stunning, loving, highenergy Siberian Husky who is ready for a home that understands the heart and spirit of his breed. He is neutered, catfriendly, great with kids ages 6–16, and full of that classic Husky charm — expressive, goofy, talkative, and deeply loyal to his people. He’s a dog who wants to be part of your life, your routine, and your adventures. If you’re looking for a companion who will make you laugh, keep you active, and adore you endlessly, Shadow might be your perfect match. Personality & Temperament Shadow is a sweet and affectionate boy who loves being with his humans. He bonds deeply and wants to be involved in everything you do — whether that’s playing outside, exploring the yard, or relaxing together after a long day. Dog Interactions He is not a “dog park” dog right now — he needs slow introductions, structure, and a calm, confident handler. Ideal Home Shadow will thrive in a home that offers: A fenced yard — nonnegotiable for a Husky who loves to run, explore, and play An active lifestyle — walks, playtime, enrichment, and outdoor time A patient, committed adopter who understands Husky energy and communication No other dogs unless training is planned A family with older kids or adults who enjoy an energetic, expressive dog He would love a home where he can spend plenty of time outside, play with toys, and be part of a family that appreciates his protective nature and big personality. What Shadow Loves Playing with toys — especially anything he can chase or tug Being outdoors — the yard is his happy place Husky-style conversations (he has a lot to say!) Being close to his people Learning new things — he’s smart and enjoys mental stimulation He’s the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily with his antics, expressions, and dramatic storytelling. Why You’ll Love Him Shadow is a dog with heart. He’s loyal, affectionate, expressive, and full of life. He wants to be someone’s best friend — someone who will give him the time, structure, and love he deserves. With the right home, he will be an incredible companion who brings joy, adventure, and devotion into your life. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic, protective, and playful Husky, Shadow is ready to meet you and start his next chapter.   The suggested adoption donation for Shadow is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).
