Freya's Story Freya is a 3-year-old small husky mix. We are estimating her to only be about 35 pounds or so. Freya is good with some dogs, but not cats or small animals. She is just the sweetest soul. This calm, gentle girl is the perfect combination of stunning looks and loving personality. With her striking eyes and soft coat, she turns heads — but it’s her kind heart that truly shines. Freya is great with kids and has a relaxed, easygoing nature that makes her a wonderful family companion. She enjoys being near her people, soaking up attention, and would love a home where she can be part of the everyday moments — from movie nights to backyard playtime. If you’re looking for a loyal, calm and loving addition to your family, Freya might be your perfect match. She IS a digger. She likes to play fetch, but sometimes she'll try to bury her toy before returning it, ha! Call 913-684-4939 for an appointment or more information. Email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com for an adoption application. ADOPTED November 2024 but returned to our care in February 2026 for a better match. Freya was getting along with one dog in the home but not the other, so she's back with us to find her a better fit.

If you have a thing for Panda's, then he is your guy. He is fluffy, cuddly, and full of energy. There is never a dull moment with Aero. We do recommend him being the only panda in your home, due to his rambunctious play drive that can be a lot for another animal, but he has made a few doggy friends during his time with us!

Hi, my name is Cochise. I’ve got a unique look due to my one blue eye. I ended up at M’Shoogys as a rescue so not much is known about my background. However, we do know that I like to eat chickens, that’s the reason I ultimately ended up here. However, I could be a good dog. I just need a home where I’ll be loved, preferably one with no chickens.

This sweet boy came from a hoarding situation near Cameron, Missouri, and was transferred to our shelter for a second chance at life. He came to us fully vetted so he is ready to go , Trumpet is about 6/7 months old. He is ready to take off to his forever home—one where he can finally enjoy the comfort of being inside, instead of out in the cold. Trumpet does amazing when meeting new dogs and has shown positive interest in some of the cats in our lobby, though he hasn’t had full interaction with a loose kitty just yet. We believe he’d do well in many homes, and kids would be a great fit for his fun personality. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving pup who’s ready to leave his past behind and start fresh, Trumpet is your guy
