If you have a thing for Panda's, then he is your guy. He is fluffy, cuddly, and full of energy. There is never a dull moment with Aero. We do recommend him being the only panda in your home, due to his rambunctious play drive that can be a lot for another animal.

Story
Hey, Chief here! So I've had it a little bit rough before I got here to HOPE. I was adopted from the local animal control by a lady who loved me but didn't quite get my best interests. She kept me inside at all times, even to use the bathroom on puppy pads. As most people know, Husky's need a whole lot of exercise and enrichment! Because I wasn't getting this, I ended up chewing up the furniture and lots of other things around the house. She did not like this, so here I am at HOPE. Everyone is hoping to get me an adopter experienced with husky's or at least someone who understands my needs and will make sure I can get the life I need so I don't resort to chewing things up when I get bored. I sure don't do that here at the shelter.

Story
Lyka is a Siberian husky who is almost 5 years old. She is the sweetest husky and so beautiful. She is great with kids and other humans. We would love to be able to keep her, but our older husky/lab mix is not getting along with her as she gets older and is starting fights with progressive frequency. She does like to run so a good fence/electric fence is a must. She is not aggressive over food.

Story
Meet Echo! She came to us from an animal hoarding situation where she lived with 15 other dogs. Her journey has shaped her into a gentle and kind soul, though she is initially shy around new people and animals. However, once she finds comfort and trust, her true playful and affectionate nature shines through. She does well with other dogs, cats, birds, and even children. Echo's ideal home would include the company of other dogs, as their presence boosts her confidence and brings out the best in her. If you welcome Echo into your home, be prepared for a period of adjustment where she acclimates to her new surroundings. With patience and love, you'll witness this once-shy pup blossom into a happy and loving member of your family.

Story
We show our dogs by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting Quill, please first fill out our online adoption application at kcpaws.org. Quill's adoption fee will be $175. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 PLEASE READ BIOGRAPHY BEFORE APPLYING Meet Quill, he is a 2-4 year old Husky/Akita Mix who came to us after spending most of his life on a chain. He has loved getting to live life to the fullest since coming to our rescue and enjoys his daily walks and runs and playing fetch in the yard with staff.  Quill has warmed up well to the staff here at KC PAWS and has particularly bonded with the manager there, it is clear that once he is bonded and trust someone he is a friendly and affectionate dog. However due to his past he sometimes is weary of strangers approaching him. He is not the type of dog that would like being in large crowds or having strangers come up to pet him during walks. He will also need his potential adopter to be willing to do multiple visits with him before adoption. Quill has met a few female dogs that he has gotten along well with, however he does not like to interact with other male dogs especially if they are his size or larger. He would do best with a female dog around his size. He does need a home with no small dogs, or cats. He would not be an appropriate fit for a home with children as he does not like for people to be in his face leaning over him and children on his level would be frightening for him. Quill is a very active, high energy dog and LOVES to run. He would be an excellent match for someone looking for a running, hiking, adventure buddy. Quill is kennel trained and keeps his run at the shelter clean. He also loves to go for car rides. Quill needs an experienced dog owner who will be willing to really work on training and socializing. He is not an appropriate fit for a first time dog owner or someone who has no previous training experience.   March 20, 2024, 8:20 am
