Story
Luna – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Luna is a stunning 4-year-old “Pitsky” (Pit Bull/Husky mix) weighing just under 50 lbs—the perfect size for snuggles and adventures. She’s a smart, eager-to-please girl who has already completed an 8-week board-and-train program using positive reinforcement. She’s been continuing her training with her professional trainer, so she’s more than ready to show off her skills in a home of her own. Luna is house- and crate-trained, knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake, and is highly food- and treat-motivated—making training both fun and rewarding. She loves long walks, hikes, and yard play, and would thrive with daily enrichment activities like nose work or scent games. Home Requirements: ·       She will do better as the only pet ·       Luna would like an active, experienced dog owner who is home often ·       She would love a fenced yard but not required ·       Luna should not live with cats, small dogs, or farm animals Luna is a total people-lover—she’s always excited to make new human friends and travel for new adventures. In the car, she’ll need to be safely crated or tethered in a car seat since her enthusiasm can get the best of her. If you’re looking for a loving, athletic, and loyal companion to join your active lifestyle, Luna is ready to be your new best friend. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Luna was found as a stray in horrible condition and ended up in a rural county shelter.    Best Friend Pet Adoption was happy to bring her into our rescue and give her the medical care needed to blossom into a the pretty girl she is now.     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING LUNA ? Story
Mavis is a 3–4 month old German Shepherd/Husky mix who is looking for a patient family to help her learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. Mavis and her brother, Graham, were found living underneath a church with their mom. Because of her start in life, Mavis is still very skittish and needs continued socialization, confidence building, and basic puppy training. She does well with other dogs, and having a confident canine friend may help her continue to come out of her shell. For a young puppy coming from life as a stray, Mavis is already doing surprisingly well with house training. She is in the beginning stages of crate training and has not yet learned how to walk on a leash. Mavis isn’t the puppy who is going to walk into a new home acting like she owns the place. She needs someone willing to give her time, patience, structure, and plenty of positive experiences. In return, her family will get the incredibly rewarding experience of watching a scared little puppy discover what it means to feel safe and loved. Mavis is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Story
Graham is a young puppy, approximately 3–4 months old, who was found living underneath a church with his sister, Mavis, and their mom. Graham can be a little shy when he first meets someone, but he warms up as he begins to feel comfortable. He does well with other dogs and would benefit from continued socialization as he learns how to navigate life as a family dog. Like most puppies, Graham still has plenty to learn. He needs work on basic manners and house training, is just beginning crate training, and has not yet learned how to walk on a leash. His early life didn’t give him much opportunity to learn those things, so he’ll need a family ready to start with the basics and help him build confidence along the way. Graham is a sweet puppy with a lot of potential. With consistency, patience, and positive training, he has everything he needs to grow into a wonderful companion. Graham is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Story
🐾 Meet Diana! 🐾 Diana is a beautiful 2-year-old Chow mix who made her way to Maine from Puerto Rico! 💕 She is fully up to date on vaccines and spayed and is ready to find her forever family. Diana is a sweet, social girl who does great with dogs, kids, and cats. 🐶🐱👧 She especially enjoys the company of other dogs and we think she would do wonderfully with another dog in the home to help show her the ropes and build her confidence. She is currently working on crate training and housebreaking, as living in a home and having this type of routine is all very new to her. She may need a little patience while she learns, but we truly believe that with consistency, love, and guidance, Diana is going to thrive. 💕 If you’re looking for a loving companion who just needs someone to give her the chance to settle in and shine, Diana may be your girl! 🏡🐾
