Story
Mama Everest is a stunning husky/shepherd mix with a heart as big as her name. She comes to us from the Red Lake Reservation, where she did everything she could to keep her babies safe in the harsh Minnesota cold. Everest gave birth under a porch, sheltering her puppies as best she could. A kind community member brought the puppies inside to keep them warm, while Everest stayed close by—watching, waiting, and protecting from outside, even though she wasn’t comfortable coming indoors herself. Her devotion never wavered. She has proven to be an incredible mama. Her puppies are healthy, happy, and chunky thanks to her constant care. Everest has done her job beautifully—and now, once her babies are fully weaned, she deserves the chance to be someone’s baby too. Mama Everest is gentle, resilient, and deeply loyal. She’s learning that she’s safe now and that humans can be trusted to take care of her as well. If you’re patient, compassionate, and ready to open your heart to a dog who has given so much of herself already, Mama Everest may be the perfect fit. Her next chapter should be one of rest, love, and forever. 💙 Her adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Winnie is a beautiful 5-year-old Husky girl weighing about 50 pounds, and she comes with some seriously awesome house-dog skills. She is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and has done well with both dogs and cats. Basically, Winnie already understands the assignment. She is the kind of girl who is easy to love — sweet, smiley, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick. Whether she’s going for a walk, hopping in the car for an adventure, or relaxing at home, Winnie is happiest when she gets to be part of the family. When it comes to kids, Winnie would likely do best with older, respectful children who understand dog boundaries. Younger kids may be a little too overwhelming for her, so a calmer home with dog-savvy kids would be her best fit. Like any queen, Winnie does have a couple of boundaries. She can be protective of her food around other animals, so she should be fed separately and given her own space during meals, treats, and high-value goodies. She also isn’t a big fan of vet visits, so she will need a patient adopter who can help her feel safe and advocate for her during medical care. Winnie has so many wonderful qualities already in place and is looking for a family who will love her for the amazing girl she is — quirks and all. 🐾 Winnie’s adoption fee is $400 MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Meet Skaya! This gorgeous, blue eyed girl is a 7-year-old, 63-pound sweetheart, and even though she`s a senior, she still acts like a gentle pup. Skaya previously lived happily as an outdoor dog, but she`s shown us that she`s completely potty trained and ready to move into a home if that`s where life leads her! Skaya is playful and absolutely loves all people. If you start petting her, she will lay right down to go belly up for rubs as she gives off the goofiest grin - see pictured second!Skaya is fantastic with kids and absolutely loves car rides. She`s a total social butterfly with humans, but she can be a bit reactive to some dogs at times and can be just a bit picky about which canines she wants to befriend. She`ll need a meet and greet with any potential dog friends to make sure they`re a good match. Come meet this smiley girl today!

Story
This girl is gonna bolt right into your heart! She’s a 1-year-old, 50-pound Husky mix who`s incredibly lovey with her favorite people, though she can be a bit of a scaredy cat. The world is a big and scary place, so we can`t blame her for being spooked by strangers, loud noises, and storms. Once she finds the right family to bond with, we know she`ll come out of her shell and things will become a little less daunting.Bolt is a sweet and friendly girl who loves to play. She takes a moment to warm up, but once she feels comfortable she`ll surprise you with her determination to win tug of war or her willingness to have a goofy wrestle. She`s potty trained, kennel trained, and very smart. She would love to be your sweet shadow!Bolt is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
